Nominations for Kane County Educator of
the Year 2018 Are Now Open
Mark your calendars for Educator of the Year 2018, held on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the Q Center in St. Charles! The Educator of the Year Awards celebrate the teachers, administrators, and support staff that work everyday to provide a fantastic education for students throughout Kane County.

Nominations are now being accepted by the ROE through February 26th, 2018. The nomination packet can be found here . All nominees should be skillful, dedicated, and continue to play an active role in education. This year, the ROE has put together a video that explains how to nominate someone for EOTY. If you have any additional questions about Educator of the Year, please contact the ROE .

Join the ROE Dec. 14th for The Student Photography Reception
The 4th Annual Kane County Student Photography Reception is on December 14th from 6pm - 8pm at  Water Street Studios in Batavia, IL ! Join over 100 attendees for an evening of appetizers, entertainment, and celebration of our amazing student photographers.

The ROE's Photo Contest is experiencing it's most successful year and has seen photos submitted from over 300 local high school students in 8 week. The contest goes until the week of December 4th and there's still time to join the friendly competition.  Contact Mike Ademe for more information .

Did You Know Series: Transportation Training
Did you know that the ROE administers the training for new and current school bus drivers? The ROE is responsible for conducting the initial training that is required for all new bus drivers, as well as the annual refresher workshop that is required in the 12-month period prior to renewing a school bus permit. In the 2016-2017 year, the ROE provided 6 Initial Bus Driver Training courses and 26 Refresher Trainings for 1,299 participants.

Register Your School For The 2018 National Spelling Bee
Has your school been registered to host a spelling bee as part of Scripps National Spelling Bee? Schools have until December 15th to register online to hold their individual spelling bee. The winner from each school will advance to a semi-final spelling bee, and the Regional Spelling Bee will be hosted by the ROE. The final winner will be sponsored by the ROE and other sponsors to advance to the National Spelling Bee held in Washington DC.

Have you visited Illinois Online Academy? Illinois Online Academy offers educators access to an online platform filled with over 30 classes that offer both college credit and professional development hours.
