IPAY is raising funds to support the development of artists in celebration of the life, work & ideals of Colleen Toohey Porter. Find out more about our crowd sourcing campaign in Indiegogo below.
It's about the children!
The Colleen Toohey Porter Artist Development fund advances the growth & development at an international level of North American-based artists creating work for young people - it's for the CHILDREN! This juried award supports professional development including mentorship, attendance at Showcase and participation in creative residencies around the world. Through this distinguished honor, Colleen's innovative and nurturing spirit will live on in the artists of the future.
The Colleen Porter Fund provides Necessary Support for Aspiring Artists like Amanda Pintore
"My passion for creating theater and dance for children 5 and under is largely inspired by my first experience at IPAY Showcase in 2015. I saw Claire Parsons Company perform a section of Marmalade, their dance performance for very young children. I sought out Claire Parsons and exchanged ideas and questions with her for the next year and a half. I recently completed a month long study with her in Stockholm. This experience inspired my current project in Arizona, wonderwander, a dance performance for very young children."
Your contribution supports the costs associated with directly developing selected artists. The Porter fund is a dedicated fund within the IPAY budget - 100% of the money donated goes towards the expenses of mentorship, participation in Showcase and the potential for additional residency opportunities for the selected artist(s) each year.
Make a tax-deductible contribution safely online through our Indiegogo campaign!
Other Ways You Can Help
Please share this with your friends and colleagues that understand the value and importance of supporting development of the arts and supporting creation of performing arts for young people. We know that those that were lucky to have known and loved Colleen will want to support this campaign. But
we hope that even if you didn't know her, you will see the importance of this cause and make a donation.
Please also share the
Colleen Toohey Porter Artist Development opportunity with artists that you know that might benefit from this program. Our goal is to make this opportunity as equitable and inclusive as possible and you can help by sending this opportunity to as many artists interested in creating work for young people as possible. There will be a Call for Applications this Autumn.
