Many of you know my story.
Growing up with a lot of fear.
Always believing that I was fearful.
That I was fearful person.
That's just who I was.
Until the day God started healing my heart.
Started healing my mind.
Started healing my belief system.
A
bout who He was.
And about who I am.
Until the day God spoke the words that were always true, but I was finally able to hear.
And able to believe.
That fear was a choice.
That I actually had the choice to say no to fear.
That I didn't have to be afraid.
That it wasn't who I was.
It was just who I
thought I was.
Until the day God gave me a new name.
The name I always had.
The name I always was.
I just didn't know it yet.
And that day, the day God spoke to my heart: Sandra, you are no longer called fearful, for I have called you Courage. T
hat day changed my life!
Like Abram, to Abraham.
And
Sarai, to Sarah.
Like Jacob, to Israel.
And Simon, to Peter.
God changed my name.
And along with it, revealed another part of my destiny.
Another part of my identity.
Courage.
One who is courageous.
An example of courage for all to see.
And so today, I encourage you.
Go after your new name.
Ask God what it is.
Watch for it.
And listen.
Because
He has a name.
Just for you.
A name that reveals your destiny.
A name that describes another part of your identity.
A name that describes you.
Who you are.
And what you carry.
Yes, God knows your name!
Do you?
As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Genesis 17:4-5 NIV
Then God said to Abraham, "Regarding Sarai, your wife -- her name will no longer be Sarai. From now on her name will be Sarah. And I will bless her and give you a son from her! Yes, I will bless her richly, and she will become the mother of many nations. Kings of nations will be among her descendants. Genesis 17:15-16 NLT
Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, "Your name is Simon, son of John - but you will be called Cephas" (which means "Peter"). from John 1:42 NLT
Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build My church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Matthew 16:18 NLT
