Greetings!

Wake County is home to over 900,000 residents who reside in 12 different municipalities. Decisions made on the county level by the Wake Board of Commissioners directly affect our schools, future transit options, and our drinking water supply. Come discover where the candidate's stand on issues that ultimately determine the quality of YOUR life!

TRANSIT WORKSHOPS:: Sept.22 & 23

The hot, dry summer has left us with below normal rainfall, and many areas in the state find themselves in drought-like conditions. In the Triangle, rain totals are 7.5 inches below normal. We are not experiencing 2007 conditions yet but discussions are increasingly being focused on water supplies.

NC SPIN will hold an NC Water Conference on October 12 at the Brownstone Hotel in Raleigh. A group of knowledgeable water experts will explain:
  • Who owns water?
  • Can anything be done about supply and demand?
  • How does water impact economic development?
  • What role should government play in water issues?
  • How can we finance water systems?
  • What are practical solutions to our issues?
Registration is $60 and includes a continental breakfast, hot lunch and handouts. Click link for more details and registration forms: http://www.ncspin.com/water_forum.php
