Pond Mountain Inn Newsletter

The summer comes alive in Vermont! Within each Newsletter over the next several months we will share very different and interesting things that we experience. I just purchased six very cool vintage Maple Syrup Sap Buckets on our drive to Woodstock.

Why Does Kay Likes Big Butts?

Most of our pork comes from local farms – soon we will only serve locally sourced pork. We are also raising our own pig that grazes on our neighbor’s property. In addition to feeding her healthy organic feed she also gets delicious melon rinds and other nutritious scraps from the inn!

Things to Do and Events that you do not want to miss!

Great Theater at the Dorset Theater Festival or Weston Playhouse!

Tonight, at the Dorset Playhouse award-winning siblings Tim and Tyne Daily take the stage in this thought-provoking family drama,  Downstairsabout a brother who moves into the basement of his sister’s home, much to her husband’s dismay will have its world premiere Thursday, June 22nd and runs through July 8th.

Visit our new Events Page for the entire summer schedule for both Playhouses.

Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home

Kay and I spent the afternoon a few weeks back walking Hildene (our third visit); Robert Todd Lincoln built this Georgian Revival mansion in 1905. The estate sits on 412 beautiful acres that overlooks both the Green Mountain and Taconic Mountain Ranges from just behind the home. The formal gardens are a must see along with the 1903 Pullman Palace Car Sunbeam. A delightful way to spend a few hours in Manchester.

Kay and I discovered the Crowley Cheese Company driving to Woodstock, Vermont last week. Our guests a week earlier always make it a point to visit this historic cheese producer. Crowley Cheese dates back to 1824 and its unique qualities are cherished by all. Learn more about what makes this award-winning cheese so special and actually see how the cheese is produced. Visit their website below to learn more!
