Why do people Paddle for Pine Tree Camp?
Each June, dozens of people grab their paddles and join us in Solon to "Paddle for a Purpose." Why do people Paddle for Pine Tree Camp? Is it because they enjoy the camaraderie of paddling down a beautiful stretch of the Kennebec River with members of their team? Perhaps. Is it because they love the special edition dri-fit t-shirt and the celebratory cookout at the end?  Maybe. Actually, the most important reason that people paddle is to put smiles on the faces of hundreds of campers who attend Pine Tree Camp. Most of our campers would not be able to afford to go to camp without financial assistance. Last year, 99% of campers received full or partial scholarships. Since Pine Tree Camp opened in 1945, no camper has ever been turned away due to inability to pay tuition. All funds raised at the 22 nd annual Bath Savings Institution Paddle for Pine Tree Camp on June 2 will go directly to the campership fund and help keep the open door policy firmly in place. Every summer,  people like you give Maine children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to attend Pine Tree Camp, make friends, try new things and exceed expectations. The impact of that experience is phenomenal!
If you have any questions about the Paddle for Pine Tree Camp, I'd love to hear from you.
My best,
