GOCO Supports ACES Ed in Garfield County
A new chapter in ACES Education unfolds in 2018 with the launch of our first formal partnership with the Re-2 school district! With funding support from the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Inspire grant, ACES Education will now offer environmental science field programs to students from Newcastle, Silt, Rifle, Parachute, and Battlement Mesa. This will include our first ACES Ed science classroom outside of the Roaring Fork Valley, with ACES Educators teaching all students (kindergarten through 4th grade) at Kathryn Senor and Elk Creek Elementary Schools on a weekly basis. We thank GOCO for their generous support, and are thrilled to bring ACES education programs to Garfield County in the new year!

ACES Ed Update
Winter not only brings snow and winter exploration to ACES Education programs, but also exciting new schools and partnerships to our work in the Roaring Fork Valley. Once again, ACES will work with 500-600 students from kindergarten to 8th grade on top of Aspen Mountain this winter. While snowshoeing at over 11,000 feet on Richmond Ridge, students explore snow science, winter survival and travel skills, animal and plant adaptations, and technical snowshoe skills. For many of these students, it is their first time riding up the Aspen Mountain gondola, as well as their first time near tree line. The combination of magic, adventure, and education make these some of our favorite ACES programs each year.
