The winter sports and activities season is both wrapping up and ramping up - the high school celebrated with Snow Days, a pep fest, and a Sadie Hawkins dance last Friday - Mr. Ertl's appearance with the Lakettes at the pep fest can be seen on the high school Facebook page. Friday night was also the Wall of Fame inductions. Still to come - lots of section play for hockey, basketball, and swimming. This week CLHS is hosting the Section 7AA Individual Wrestling Tournament Feb. 19-20; Twelve schools and 150 wrestlers will be competing for a chance to go to state! You can always keep up with Activities here and through the Activities Calendar.

Round Table Meetings Looking For Community Input
One of the goals for the Chisago Lakes School Board for 2015-2016 was a facilities audit across the district to assess facility needs now and into the future.  Superintendent Joe Thimm has spent the past couple of months gathering information with staff at each of the district's seven sites. It's now time for some community input.

There will be three meetings in the next few weeks for community members to learn about some of the results of the facilities audit so far and to give input on the vision for the district's learning and recreation spaces as we move ahead. On February 17th, the Round Table meeting will be held at Taylors Falls Elementary in the cafeteria from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The subsequent meetings will be February 22nd in the high school cafeteria (prior to the Winter Band Concert) at 6:30 p.m., and February 29th at Lakeside in the media center at 6:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend a Round Table Meeting, but you would like to provide input - please email us at [email protected]
Forever Young  Group Having Fun in 2016!

Our Community Education Forever Young (older adults) group continues to meet for fun activities and trips in 2016. We had an artist come in to help us each do a painting in a day and enjoyed a luncheon and tour of the Pine County History Museum in January. Join us for some fun and socializing! Upcoming dates are Feb 23 Mar 8 , 29, Apr 12 , 26, and May 10.  Meetings  take place at the Community Education Center in Lindstrom from 1:00-2:30 p.m.

Grab and Go Breakfast Coming to CLHS!
Don't have time to get to the cafeteria in the morning for breakfast? Hungry and need something to eat before you head off to class? Beginning Tuesday, March 1st, the food service department will be offering "Grab and Go" breakfast bags in the high school commons area from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.

For $1.25 you can purchase a whole grain and protein item, plus juice and milk! Not only will it give you energy to start a new day, but breakfast is linked to many health benefits, including weight control and improved performance in the classroom and the gym. Studies have also shown that eating breakfast is likely to improve cognitive function related to memory and test grades.  Students who qualify for free or reduced meals get their breakfast free.
