Leaves are changing - and falling, football season has wrapped up for the Wildcats, and we're coming to the end of fall field trip season (check out the article for lots of pictures). At the high school and elementary schools, the first parent-teacher conferences of the year are over and kids are in the school routine.  November will bring the fall musical Grease at the high school the 19th through the 22nd - tickets available November 1st, and lots of other events and  activities, so be sure to check in with Facebook and website pages.

Fall Field Trip Roundup: With perfect fall weather, kids and adults both took the opportunity to get out an see what there is to see in the beautiful St. Croix Valley. Maybe a trip to the pumpkin patch , touring and lunch in Stillwater , cruising on the St. Croix River , or learning what there is to learn about water at Camp Ojiketa - it seems everyone had a great time! Community Ed's Forever Young class meets throughout the year for different activities, so check out the  upcoming schedule   if you're interested in joining. There's still lots of fun to be had!
Disclaimer: There are an awful lot of cute kid pictures included...
Friends Make a Difference Mentorship Program

One thing we appreciate about the Chisago Lakes area is the support offered to all of our students.  Some of our students, however, need a little bit more - so we try to connect them to mentors.  We have a need this year for additional mentors, in various buildings at various age levels.  For the first time in a couple of years we are able to expand our program. Friends Make a Difference - facilitated by the YMCA - is helping us.

Mentors meet once or twice a month over the students lunch break during the school year. If you would like to fill out an application to be a mentor, click here.   If you would like more information about mentoring, please contact April Stewart, Healthy Youth Director, at 651.259.2116 or by email at [email protected]

Compassion Drive Kicks Off at CLMS: October 26-November 6
At the local food shelf, approximately 250 families come in monthly for food, personal hygiene items, and a birthday box if they have a child 1-18 years old. Unlike food items, personal hygiene items only come in through donations.  In an effort to increase the amount of supplies families receive, CLMS students and staff are collecting toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and other personal care items starting next week and running through November 6th.  Students at Lakeside are collecting items for birthday boxes until the end of the week.

Last year students at the high school collected more than 4,000 rolls of toilet paper and more than 3,000 other personal hygiene items, filling the shelves.
