BOOK FAIR
Our "Feelin Groovy" Book Fair will begin this Friday, January 29th and run through Friday, February 5th.  We will be open from 7:30am - 3:30pm in the library each day, with the exception of February 5th, when we will be open until 12:30pm, because of early dismissal.  This book fair is a fundraiser for our library and would not be possible without our parent volunteers.

We still have lots of shifts to fill and would love to have your help!    As a volunteer, you can sign up to help the little ones complete their wish   lists (Friday, the 29th), help with the cash registers (they are really very easy to learn and easy to use!), help during Open House and/or Grandparent's Day which will be very busy, and/or help set up or tear down the book fair.

Please click here to sign-up  for a shift or two or  as many shifts as you want!  Thank you!

CATHOLIC CHARITIES HYGIENE KITS
SOS is a front-line program that addresses the immediate needs of the homeless population in Fort Worth. Clients live in places not meant for human habitation: in encampments, abandoned buildings, bridges, automobiles, and on the street. Catholic Charities Fort Worth partners with the local churches, police, universities, hospitals, non-profit agencies and others in order to meet the needs of these vulnerable clients. Hygiene Kits are one of the ways to help.

Our 7th graders, along with the SAS Student Council, are conducting a drive to collect items for the Hygiene Kits. The following items are being requested:

Full-Size Shampoo
Liquid Bath Soap
Wash Cloth
Q-Tips
Deodorant
Razor
Lotion
Full-Size Toothpaste
Toothbrush
B ug Spray, Small Bottle
Chapstick

Please drop off items in the main hallway of the school by January 29th.

Again, thank you for your support of this very important service project.

VISITING AUTHOR
Do you like P ie , or So B It , or If I Were a Lion ? Are these books you've read to your children or heard your child mention he/she has heard in school?  On Thursday, February 11, Saint Andrew will have the pleasure of meeting the author of these lovely books.  These are just a few that fascinate children from Kindergarten through 6th grade and even a few 7th and 8th graders.  Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will enjoy a presentation about many books Ms. Weeks has penned.  If you are interested in ordering one of her books and maybe even getting it autographed, click here to get the order form.  It must be returned no later than Friday, February 5th, with payment.  No orders will be taken after the deadline.

Click here to find out more about the author.

Email Mrs. Clarson with any additional questions.

OPEN HOUSE
Our Annual Catholic Schools Week Open House will be held on
Sunday, January 31, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. This year, our students will be Lectors, Ushers and Eucharistic Ministers at the 10:30am Parish Mass.

All SAS students are requested to wear full dress uniform to Mass.

W estern Wear Out of Uniform Day will be on Monday, February 1st for all of th ose who come visit their classrooms in dress uniform on Sunday. Boots, hats and jeans may be worn to school.  (Please, no chaps, spurs, toy guns, etc.)

As always, please use your good judgment. Nothing should be worn that could be distracting to the learning or teaching process.  Teachers and administration have the final call on any potentially distracting western wear.

SPIRIT SHOP
Don't miss a great opportunity to save and stock up on Saint Andrew Spirit Gear! This is the first sale we're offering for the year.  All items (with the exception of the long sleeve black fleece) are 20% - 50% off.

If you haven't had the opportunity to stop by and see the new store, please visit us on Sunday during Open House.   This is another great way to support our wonderful school.

For those who have been waiting for XS long sleeve shirts, we should have those back in stock by Grandparents day.  We'll also be offering "Proud Grandparents" t-shirts for the first time, these will also be available on February 5th for $15.

ROSARY

All are welcome to pray the Rosary on Tuesday, February 2nd at 2:30pm in the Sa

GRANDPARENTS/GRANDFRIENDS DAY
Grandparents/Grandfriends Day will take place on Friday, February 5th from 8:30am - Noon in the gym. Upon arrival, free valet parking will be available and refreshments will be served in the gym.

SAS Parents, please encourage your child's grandparents or special friend to spend the day with us. Remember, because of the number of grandparents visiting on this special day (we had over 400 in attendance last year!),
we will have room for grandparents/special friends only.
RE-ENROLLMENT 2016-2017
There is still time for online registration, if you haven't already done so. Remember, registration for new students will begin on February 8th.

If you have already re-enrolled, please remember to turn in the Catholic Rate Request Form and Registration Fee.

If you are applying for tuition assistance, please send all of your information to FACTS by March 1, for best results.
