Dear Parents,

Thank you for celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week with us last week! What a fun reminder of how blessed we are with amazing staff, students and families!

This past weekend we cheered on our basketball teams at the Wildcat tournament. We are thankful for Mr. Doherty and the Athletic Ministry Action Team for all the time invested for this special event. We are also thankful for 1st grade families who came to cheer on their 8th grade buddies, alumni who came back to help with scoreboard and concessions, and many parents who volunteered throughout the weekend.

This week we celebrated Day 100 in Kindergarten with a special visit from Zero the Hero and many parent helpers for a morning of activities. We give thanks for all our parent helpers, who invest time and resources for our children.

We are blessed as a school family! Thank you parents, for your partnership in raising young champions for Christ. We are certainly surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses and my prayer is that our eyes stay fixed on Jesus, as described in Hebrews 12:1-2:
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."

May you and your family be blessed as you grow in Him,

Crissy Peterson
Assistant Principal

Lutheran Schools Week Recap
We had a wonderful celebration of Lutheran Schools last week as we enjoyed worship, fun theme days and a spirited pep rally.  It was great to see the creative outfits of the students and teachers throughout the week. Most importantly our school raised over $1000.00 to support G9, Gold in September which supports pediatric cancer. Way to go!
The winner from K-5 is Mrs. Naber's class and for 6th-8th it is Mrs. Kemper's 8th grade class.
Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause. We are so thankful that we can share our blessings with others. To God be the Glory!
JK3-8th Grade Parent Conferences
While our Fall conferences are designed to meet with all homeroom parents, the upcoming conferences on February 12 are designed to meet with parents as needed. Please don't ever hesitate to contact a teacher with questions or ideas any time of the year. We are thankful for the parent support and involvement at HCLS!

6th-8th Grade Peanut Butter and Jelly Collection
The SALT team in 6th-8th grade is leading the effort to collect peanut butter and jelly for area food pantries. Here at Hales Corners Lutheran we are proud to announce that we have won the PB&J challenge in the past several years for most PB&J collected with more than 10 pounds per student! Students in grades 6-8 who donate any peanut butter or jelly will get a voucher for a ticket to a Buck's game.  The top winning 4 schools will send representatives from their school to go out onto the Bucks court during halftime at one of the games! You can donate anytime from February 1-28, and each and every jar of PB&J goes to Feeding America. The only restrictions are no glass jars of any sort as they can break during the transportation to food pantry's in the greater Milwaukee area.
Thanks for collecting for a great cause!
