Family devotional time is essential to growing your faith and trust in Christ as you strive to follow Him every day. Family devotions are a great way to encourage parents and teach children about the importance of studying the Word of God. With each new stage of your children's lives, there are new issues and new worries. Instead of trying to follow what the world tells you to do, take your family before the Lord in prayer and study what the Bible tells parents!

All you need is an appetite and the flyer ~ it's an easy way for our school to raise money! The flyer is attached. Please note, we have streamlined the tuition agreements so you can complete both the enrollment and agreement in one step. #WeLoveHCLS Contest
With new student enrollment at HCLS opening on January 8 and National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) kicking off January 20, we want to go BIG celebrating the ministry of Hales Corners Lutheran School. We need your help, so get ready to share your Wildcat pride!
Between Friday, January 5 and Monday, January 15 at Noon CT, we invite your family to participate in our #WeLoveHCLS Contest on Facebook by sharing your HCLS story along with (a) photo(s) or video(s) and what you LOVE most about your Lutheran school! Don't be afraid to get creative with your post -- the FIVE posts with the MOST likes will win a $100 VISA gift card! Winners will be announced to kick off National Lutheran Schools Week and we'll also be sharing some of these special stories in our National Lutheran Schools Week kick-off services the weekend of January 20 and 21.
So, to participate in our #WeLoveHCLS Contest, here's what to do:
- By Monday, January 15th at Noon CT, create a post on your own Facebook Timeline that includes each of the following:
a) a minimum of 30 words,
b) photos or video and
c) the hashtag #WeLoveHCLS to share your family's HCLS story and what you love most about your Lutheran school. You will automatically be entered to win. Be sure to get creative and let your Wildcat pride shine, the FIVE posts with the most likes will win a $100 VISA gift card! See attached for a sample post.
- Be sure to make your #WeLoveHCLS post "Public." If you have trouble with this or you're not sure, go ahead and publish your post (it can be made "Public" even after your post is live) and then contact the HCL Communications team at [email protected] and we'll help you out!
- Join us for our National Lutheran Schools Week services the weekend of January 20 and 21. HCLS staff, students and their families will play important roles in worship. We will also have a special Children's Message as well as a devotion book for families that was created by our students.

History Bee
On Friday, January 12, from 2:00-3:20pm, students in 6-8th grade will be competing in the Intramural of the National History Bee.
Quizzing them on questions ranging from world leaders to geography, the top 7 students will qualify to take the online entrance exam. In the past two years, we have had several students make it to the National level. Come join us for fun, fellowship, and trivia!
