August 25, 2017
Please come join us for the first joint chapel opportunity of the school year at the Janesville Campus on Wednesday, August 30 at 9:30 AM.
All students, staff and guests will gather together for praise and worship as we begin this season of JOY.
Dear Parents:
I am sitting at my desk on the night before school begins for the students in the morning.  The hallways are quite empty, the classrooms are filled with anticipation as the students will be in them very early tomorrow morning.
I am picturing parents at home wondering what the new year will bring, students wondering what the first day will be like and teachers wondering how the students that God is sharing with them will grow as young learners. As you read this, the first day has been completed and you are already moving into the first weekend of the school year.  The eclipse has past and another day has dawned.  What will not change is how we will love the students that come into our building.

In Mark 12: 30/31, Jesus is asked what the greatest commandment is.

He replied, "love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind, and with all your strength.  The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself."

The JOY that comes every day is knowing how we love God, we love our neighbors and then ourselves.  This is a life long lesson that we will use as our theme for the following school year.

My prayer is that this theme is and becomes a "core" of who each of us are!

JOY!

Summer Piano "Tour"
The piano department was busy this summer, preparing students for recitals which took place at two senior centers in the Milwaukee area. On the evening of July 27, the residents at Clare Meadows Senior Apartments in Franklin were entertained with two fantastic piano recitals, featuring students of Mrs. Propp and Mrs. Gallo. Residents at Harwood Place in Wauwatosa enjoyed two fabulous recitals given by Mrs. Samorajski's piano students on the evening of August 6. Our HCL summer piano students, along with piano friends from other Milwaukee area schools, performed music that was specially selected for the residents of these facilities.  They enjoyed listening to patriotic songs, folk tunes, and pop tunes from their era. What a great way to end summer piano lessons!
