Dear Parents:
I was in a devotion with Pastor Chad Kogutkiewicz this past Tuesday.  We were discussing the incredible blessings that we share in our church and school.
We talked about earthly goals and working towards them.  Pastor K took me to Philippians 3:12-20.
I encourage you to read the entire passage as you seek His will in your life.  Pastor K shared a quote with me that resonated within me.  He came across it in his readings, but doesn't remember who to give credit to. It goes like this, "As Christians this is as close to hell as we will ever get.  For non-christians this is as close to heaven as they will ever get!"  
I know that sometimes I get lost in the details of my day, versus the blessings of my day.  This passage and quote helped me to "reboot" my thinking and to focus instead on how blessed I am to be held in our Saviors arms, knowing that I will spend eternity with Him!  If you are stuck in what isn't, I encourage you to reboot into Him!

JANESVILLE CAMPUS
Valentine's Party for Grades 6-8
We will celebrate Valentine's Day for grades 6-8 on Wednesday, February 14,
from 2:45-3:20 pm.  Donations are still needed for the celebration.  If you would like to contribute, please look at the sign up genius list and select an option. Students will have time to hand out valentines and enjoy treats. Valentine exchange for middle school students is not required; however, if you choose to participate please bring valentines for everyone either in your homeroom, grade level or all of the girls or guys in the class.  We want to avoid someone feeling left out.  Thank you!

8th Grade Parent Meeting
8th grade parents please save the date and meet us in Fellowship Hall at the Janesville Campus on
Tuesday, February 27, 6:30 pm to discuss the end of year activities for our eighth graders.  We look forward to seeing you there!



8th Grade - Scholastic Challenge
Next week our 8th graders will have an opportunity to compete in an online academic challenge through American Scholastic Achievement League.  The sections include: General Knowledge (i.e. food, art, sports, music, current events, entertainment, mythology, etc.), Language and Literature, Geography, History, Science, and Mathematics. The questions are not related to a specific curriculum, but are selected to reflect the general knowledge and educational levels expected of eighth grade students.

A Memorable Season Captured Forever
Spring Sports & Activity Pictures will be taken on Tuesday, February 20, for grades 4-8 at the  Janesville Campus.  Lifetouch order forms for spring sports only will be sent home with the students participating in sports. A separate form will be sent home for activity group photos. A 5 x 7 untitled activity group photo can be purchased for $7.00 each.   If you wish to purchase a picture, payment must be  handed in on picture day. Please make check payable to Lifetouch. 
*Athletic & scout uniforms, as well as instruments, need to be brought to school on picture day.
