May 26, 2017
Dear Parents:
I wanted to share with you our staffing plan going forward with Mrs. Bartholomew accepting her call to Faith Lutheran Academy in Las Vegas.  Mrs. Peterson will continue her role as Assistant Principal at Hales Corners Lutheran and her location will be at the Grange campus as the building administrator.  Mrs. Emily Lenz, already a called teacher at HCL will now be a full time teacher and serve both buildings.  She will continue her role as Science teacher for JK3-5th grade, add STEM classes for 6-8th grade and if time allows, add STEM classes for K-3rd grade students.  Mrs. Terry Kemper will be our Language Arts teacher for 7th and 8th grade as well as one of the homeroom teachers for 8th grade. She is currently serving at WCTC as Director of Library and Academic Support Services as well as an instructor at WCTC.  She and her family are members of HCL and their two daughters attend our school.
A part time IT resource person, assigned to the Grange campus will be hired this summer to assist our IT department while being a valuable onsite person for the Grange campus.  We are thankful to see God's hand in this process and are excited to see how He will continue to bless our ministry.  Please continue to keep our  church and  school in your prayers as we walk through the transitions that God is putting in front of us,  confident of His perfect plan.

Living on Purpose!

With Our Thanks
After 20 years of faithful service in our Early Childhood classrooms, Mrs. Pam Hahn will be leaving Hales Corners Lutheran School at the end of this school year. Mrs. Hahn has served as a teacher's aide in our JK3 and JK4 classrooms. Her kindness and compassion, her love for God's children, and her positive outlook and dedicated efforts will be greatly missed. She is a gift to our HCL family and we pray God's continued blessings as she follows His will for this next season of her life. Thank you, Mrs. Hahn! We are grateful for your servant heart!

Prayers Needed
Mrs. Brenda Granley, one of our 5th grade teachers at the Elementary School, has received a call to teach 1st grade at Danville Lutheran School in Danville, IL. We ask for God's wisdom and guidance as the Granleys seek to follow God's will for their lives. We are confident that God has a plan and we trust that He will make His plan clear to Mrs. Granley and her family.
"For I know the plans I have for you" says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Lunch Account Balance and End of School Year
Thank you for your continued support of our lunch program. As we near the end of the school year, it is important that we balance out the accounts for eighth graders and students with negative balances.
Eighth graders without younger siblings at HCLS or students not returning to HCLS for the 2017-18 school year will be issued a refund on accounts of $5.00 or more.
If an eighth grader has a younger sibling returning next year, we will transfer the remaining balance to that account.  This will automatically be done for the 2017-18 school year.
Please take a moment to view your student's account at myschoolbucks.com and pay any negative balance by Wednesday, June 7. Lunch fees must be paid before report cards will be issued.
If you have any questions, please contact Denise Toy or the school office at 414-529-6702.

All new students must have a piano or minimum 61-key keyboard on which to practice. If interested in signing up, information and registration forms (due May 31) are available in the school office.

Baptismal Remembrance
Once a month during our morning chapel service, we remember the baptismal birthdays of students baptized during that month. Our baptism is like another birthday when our sins are forgiven and we are granted a new life in Christ Jesus. This past Wednesday we remembered the following students who were baptized during the month of June.
Logan R., Ella S., Caitlin T., Michael W., Nathan W., Ian M., Danielle W., Ava H., Isabelle H., Gavin M., Owen G., Joe H., Eve W., Joshua B., Antonio S., Sam K.
We are also blessed in our chapel service this week to witness the baptism of Noah S., one of our kindergarten students. We welcome Noah as a child of the King and pray God continues to grow his faith.  Blessings Noah!

Cub Scout Recruiting Night, May 30, 6:30 pm
Current K - 4th grade boys and their parents who are interested in joining Cub Scouts this Fall are invited to attend our Cub Scout Recruiting Night in Fellowship Hall at the Grange Campus.  Some of the fun things we do in Cub Scouts include monthly activities and games, camping, and of course building and racing Pinewood Derby cars!  While the boys are having all that fun, they are developing lifetime values, citizenship, and duty to God.  At our recruiting night we will have crafts and activities for the boys to work on while we talk to the parents about what we do in Cub Scout Pack 599 and answer any questions they may have.  As a bonus, boys who register now are invited to attend our Summer activities, and if they participate in all three they will earn their first award at our opening Pack Meeting in September!  For questions, contact Cubmaster David Graat at dgraat@gmail.com or 262-227-3703.
