March 02, 2018
Dear Parents:
This past week, I have been thinking a lot about baseball and that this is the season of spring training. Every winter, I look forward to spring training because it indicates a fresh start for my team of choice.
The weather, the conversation of what will go right this season, what good things that we have to look forward to along with the theme of "hope springs eternal".
I realize that baseball is a diversion of real life for me.
In the same way our Lenten Season prepares us for the suffering and death of Christ and his resurrection! What if as a society, we spent the same amount of time and energy preparing for Jesus?  Imagine taking a spring break to meditate on the sins that Jesus atones for us?  I realize that this may not be practical, but, what if?  I pray that you use your Lenten Season for one of reflection on what "hope springs eternal" in your life.  What Christ has done for each of us.
Oh, by the way, I hope that you can sneak in a little baseball as well!

JOY!

Family Mentor Program
Our CPAL board is very excited to begin a new Mentor Program which will help connect existing families with new families at HCLS. We are seeking names of existing families that would be interested to serve as mentors for new families.

Would you be willing to...
  • Connect kids over summer (something as simple as a playdate in the park)
  • Share contact information so new families can ask questions
  • Answer questions and offer guidance throughout the school year
If you would like to have your name added as a mentor family, please contact Angela Ferrel at   ferrellfamilyof6@yahoo.com.  We are working on creating a list of interested families before the school year ends so we can begin connecting with our new families this summer. Thank you for reaching out and welcoming others into our school family!

Interested in CPAL?
CPAL is seeking new members to join our board. If you are interested in being part of CPAL, please contact one of the faculty advisors listed below or join us at our next meeting on Monday, March 5, at 6:30pm Grange Campus.  We are looking for parents interested in:

Thank You Mr. Kirner
We thank Mr. Drew Kirner for choosing our Grange campus as the site for his Senior Shared Life project, we appreciate his help.  Here is a message from Drew:

Hi! My name is Drew Kirner, and I am a 2014 graduate of Hales Corners Lutheran School. I currently attend Marquette University High School, and I am spending time here as a volunteer as a part of the Senior Shared Life project. The past two weeks have been a lot of fun for me. Along with being able to relive my time here at HCLS, it has been a wonderful experience working with the kids in JK3, JK4,
1st and 2nd grades.
