WEATHER INFORMATION!!

If you've ever wondered how schools make decisions about the weather in regard to lightning, here is some information in which you will be interested.
THOR GUARD
is a "lightning prediction system" and not a radar.  It uses sensors to evaluate changing atmospheric conditions that are predictive of conditions that are consistent with lightning events.  All schools are covered by a Thorguard system however in some instances where we have multiple schools collocated they operate under a "slave and master" configuration with the master being linked electronically to the slave. By placing THOR GUARD in each school, our goal is to maximize safety by providing our staff and students with critical, timely lightning warning information in an easy-to-use format.
THOR GUARD information is easily accessible to students and parents. If you download the CCPS app on your phone, you will have access to the information specific to any CCPS school. Just open the app and find the "weather" icon, then tap on the image that looks like the one at the top of this article. You will then be prompted to choose from drop down lists of schools. Alternatively, you can also access this information online at the CCPS website:  CCPS WEATHER.  There is a lot of other weather related information there, including the 5 sources to access for information regarding school operations that comes directly from the school district office.

Proud NNMS Moment!!
Many of you know already that following Hurricane Irma,
Mrs. Jackson put out a simple Facebook post asking for some volunteers to donate peanut butter and jelly, some snacks and prepare food bags for victims of Hurricane Irma.
Less than four hours later, more than 200 volunteers descended on North Naples Middle School ready to help.  Then it happened again the next day! Read the story in the Naples Daily News.
And did you know that NNM was a shelter during Hurricane Irma? We should all be proud of the NNM Family and the outpouring of support before, during, and after Hurricane Irma!
