Good Friday Morning!
This Ohio wether all over the board! This morning I woke up to snow on the truck, by 3 PM it was 55 Degrees and I mowed my lawn this evening! Things look like they will straighten out this weekend into next week, if we dodge some forecasted rail, it will be time to hit the fields for sure. This week we spent some time in NW Indiana Demoing Yetter Strip Freshener units. If you would like to demo a toolbar be sure to give us a call, we have 2 toolbars on the lot. Last Friday we planted some beans to try out the "Early Bean Craze" today the ground temp at 1" was 54 degrees and the beans were swollen, we will keep you updated on that as the season continues. We also spent some time in Southern Ohio this week working on a brand new JD 1775 putting on Totally Tubular in furrow fertilizer. It is not too late to start a planter project!
Have a Great Friday!

Cassie's Country Cupboard Weekly Recipe:
Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
There is snow on the ground as Iā€™m writing this, but I know spring will be showing up soon! One of the ways we celebrate the arrival of spring is by enjoying fresh asparagus on the grill. Choose thin, green stalks with tightly closed heads. Bend one of the stalks near the base and where it breaks is where you should cut the rest of the bundle to get rid of the woody pieces.

Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients:
10 fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
1/8 tsp. pepper
5 bacon strips, halved lengthwise
Olive or canola oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat.
  2. Lightly drizzle oil on asparagus and turn to coat. Sprinkle with pepper.
  3. Wrap a long bacon piece around each spear; secure ends with toothpicks.
  4. Grill, uncovered, for 4-6 minutes on each side or until bacon is crisp. Discard toothpicks.

Clear residue,
Have you ever heard of a strip freshener? The concept was originated to freshen fall strips before the planter came through in the spring. What we are finding is guys like to use these to create new strips in the spring just ahead of the planter. What happens is they clear the residue, air out the should and create a warm, soft seedbed for the planter to plant into. Many guys have experienced earlier planting windows by drying out the planting zone with these units. Some Customers have also added liquid fertilizer to the equation as well to get some weight off of the planter. if you would like to Demo a strip Freshener toolbar this spring give us a call 419-953-8500
