Connecting Communities BBQ provides
Food, Fellowship; Fairview BBQ Aug. 21
Fairview residents are invited to the Connecting Communities BBQ on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Sharbono Park.
Williston Economic Development - Williston Regional Economic Development (WRED) is preparing for its 9th Connecting Communities BBQ in three years. The BBQ will be held Aug. 21 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Sharbono Park in Fairview. The BBQ's were introduced in the summer of 2016 to express Williston's appreciation for the business it receives from its neighboring communities. "The purpose of the BBQ is to say thank you from WRED. Our goal is to reach out to these communities and provide them a nice lunch and do all the work, so they and just come over and eat a nice meal," said Ken Callahan, WRED board member. Read More

The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting in honor of The Shopper's 30th Anniversary.

Salon 701 Club celebrates Grand Opening
Williston Economic Development - A new salon celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 2. Salon 701 Club is located at 417 1st Ave E, Suite 1 in the former New Directions location. The celebration included grilled pizza, music, giveaways and door prizes!

Williston Economic Development - The owner of a dog grooming in business in Williston was one of the presenters at 1 Million Cups Williston on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Anna Denton shared how she started Anna's Groom Room and was surprised by its overnight success. Denton, who previously worked as a professional photographer, said she sought a new career after a life changing experience. "I had a brief encounter with death and it was an eye opener for me and dogs are great therapy and that's why I took this route," she said. Read More
Williston Farmers Market helps Small Businesses Grow

KUMV-TV - The Williston Downtowners Farmers Market provides a chance for producers to get their business exposed. "This is my third market and I've actually had a couple of repeat customers which is really awesome," said Nikki Wright, owner of Mrs. B's Homestyle Eatery. "I make sweet potatoes pies, coconut pies but definitely my pecan pies are the number one seller," says Wright. Read More
Northstar Center in Foreclosure; Auction Aug. 14
Williston Herald - Williston's proposed North Star Center is headed for auction. The mixed-use development located on U.S. Highway 2 north of Williston is in foreclosure. The development will be sold at auction to the highest bidder beginning at 10 a.m. Aug. 14. In court records, YAM Capital LLC says it is owed $9.031 million dollars from the development. Read More
Construction begins at Burger King in Sidney
Construction is getting underway on a new fast food restaurant in Sidney. Sidney Herald
Sidney Herald - The construction process for a Burger King restaurant in Sidney has started. The restaurant will be located in the front area of the Shops at Fox Run. David Harper, owner of Meridian Restaurants of Ogden, Utah, said the company owns more than 100 Burger Kings including 25 in Montana. "We love the town," Harper said of Sidney. "We feel it's a great opportunity there." Read More

Four Bears Casino celebrates 25th Anniversary
New Town News - The year was 1993 and less than a year earlier the Three Affiliated Tribes reached an agreement with the State of North Dakota to allow gaming on the reservation. That August, the tribe opened the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge with just 40 rooms and a small gaming floor, and the enterprise has been growing ever since. Four Bears celebrates 25th Anniversary
