Dear Girl Scout Family

Registration nights are happening all over the council. Every year we welcome several thousand girl and adult Girl Scout sisters. When you see new faces please join me in saying 'Hello'!  Girl Scouts has something to offer every girl and we sure appreciate your help in telling your friends about the GREAT things happening Girl Scouts in your area and encourage them to get involved!

In addition to volunteers attending open houses at school and putting up posters around the community, I've seen some really neat ways people tell their friends about Girl Scouts and I thought I'd share a few examples I've seen recently ...

  • Heather shared a picture of a thank you note her daughter Erin gave her when she signed up for Girl Scouts. (I couldn't resist sharing Erin's artwork below. It makes me smile every time I look at it!)
  • Terry volunteered to do a recycling activity for Girl Scouts. She used her social media network to invite her friends to support Girl Scouting by recycling items they may normally throw away. When the project was done, she showed them a picture ... and I bet at least one girl or adult learned something new about what Girl Scouts do through this!
  • Sara is attending a program about canoeing at a nearby museum where she can tell attendees about wilderness canoe tripping with Girl Scouts.

"Thank you for putting me in Girl Scouts"

As for me, I continue to say "yes" to every community event I can attend and tell the public about the amazing things our girls and volunteers are doing. Thanks for being part of Girl Scouts and Thanks for spreading the word!

Great reaction from the crowd at Our World, Our Family!

"... A big thanks goes to all the volunteers (most of which I don't know) who gave of their time and talents this weekend... wanting nothing in return except to give glory to the name of Girl Scouts. Wow, I am humbled by these folks.  It gives me something to aspire to when the day comes that my daughter is out of the house and I'm no longer a troop leader. Their service to our Girl Scout community as a whole is truly outstanding. Thank you for finding them and cultivating them-- they are like individual pots of gold at the end of the Girl Scout rainbow." ~ An Our World, Our Family participant
