It took a lot of practice, but Jess eventually managed to bend it like Beckham and blow the competition away. Eight Bangalore (India) girls will try to emulate her in real life as they prepare to showcase their football skills at the International Children's Games (ICG) in Windsor, Canada from August 14 to 19.

For the first time, a team of eight girls from Bangalore will represent the country in ICG. All of them are under 15 years of age. In the under-15 age group, each football team has six players.

The girls were shortlisted through a selection process in May among students from Vidya Niketan School, Greenwood High International School, Vidyashilp Academy, Bangalore International School, Inventure Academy and Ebenezer International from Bangalore and St Joseph's Girls Convent, Mangalore. Meet Sport's Agent, Matt Senechal
Sport is a very popular mascot these days. In fact, he's in such high demand, he's had to hire an agent to manage his busy schedule. Agent Matt Senechal reviews all requests for Sport's appearances and accompanies Sport on many of his travels.

Sport and Matt appear at a wide range of events, from school assemblies (hanging out with local kids is Sport's favourite) to tree plantings (oh yes, Sport is an environmentalist) to upcoming events like the Big Wiggle Fest (June 29, Riverside Sportsmen's Club, be there!). It's a dizzying schedule for the little guy, but Sport is certainly a good sport! "We try our best to accommodate everybody," says Matt. "Sport is a very committed mascot."

Sport's message when he tours the community is simple: Be active and be positive. That's the message he sends to adoring fans each time he gives his signature thumbs-up, and that positive spark is infectious. Sport is always a hit. "I'm just a big kid myself," explains Matt. "I get excited too, watching the looks on the kids' faces when Sport appears. It's like they're exploding with joy!"

If you would like to book Sport for an event in the months leading up to the Games, just fill out the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/ICGWEMASCOT
