The 2009 vintage for Bordeaux is being heralded by the King of Bordeaux Robert Parker as the best ever. I am strongly recommending that all customers to acquire as much 2009 as they can. You will be thanking me for years to come as you enjoy the wines. Parker on 2009 Bordeaux, "After spending nearly two weeks in Bordeaux at the end of January, this is unquestionably the greatest Bordeaux vintage I have ever tasted." He further commented, "In short, 2009 is the greatest vintage I have tasted in Bordeaux since 1982, of which it is a modern day version, but greatly improved." This vintage now goes down with the greats, 1982, 1961 and 1945.  

One of the great finds of the vintage comes to us from a great young winemaker who I met earlier this year and had a great dinner with. Needless to say we had too much food and too much wine and I enclose a picture of Jeremy riding "The Bull" at one of CT's finest steak houses. I understand the bull market bull has never been ridden before. Jerome Aguirre is actually a passionate extremely talented young winemaker in Bordeaux. This is Jerome pet project with his wife Veronique and has been in Veronique family for generations. Jerome main responsibilities are winemaker of famous Le gay 96+ pts Parker in 2009 and La Violette 98 pts Parker in 2009 in Pomerol that are both selling for $150 plus a bttl and was recently at Reignac. He puts the same amount of energy and passion into his own wine the 2009 Chateau Haut Musset which is literally a few hundred meters from Pomerol in Lalande de Pomerol. Haut Musset has a great terroir that enable Jérôme to make wines with real structure, style and potential. The 2009 is still a "young baby" with plenty of upside. As good as the best Pomerol at a fraction of the price. This is a big, powerful masculine style of Pomerol, plenty of dark tarry fruits with Asian spice and roasted herbs. A profound wine from this great vintage. Only 1000 cases produced per year. This wine is sold in the best restaurants all over the world such as Bristol in Paris.... Tasting Notes   

The wine possesses notes of chocolate fudge, blackberry jam, toasty oak, charcoal and graphite. A superb texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a terrific finish all make for a wine that should cost two or three times what this will fetch.
