RACE DAY TIPS & HINTS!
With over 3,000 participants and many more family members, friends and wine-lovers, Mallow Run is a fun and busy place on race day! To make sure you have the best race day possible, here are a few tips and reminders:
ROAD CLOSURES / PARKING
-Allow plenty of time to arrive (we'd suggest planning to arrive at the winery between 3 and 3:30pm!). Please remember that Whiteland Road east of the winery (between SR 144 & SR 135) is CLOSED. Our suggestion is to take SR 37 to Whiteland Road and head a couple miles east. Click HERE for additional route suggestions.
-Once you're at the winery, please look for parking attendants who will guide you to the next available space (parking is free).
POST-RACE CELEBRATION
-Please remember to bring your ID in order to fill up your commemorative wine glass with the wine of your choice after the race! (Soft drinks will be available.)
-The Woomblies will be rockin' the stage until 8pm. Seating on the patio is very limited, so we encourage you to bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to spread out on the lawn and enjoy the show!
-Lots of folks will be lining up to taste and purchase wine - who doesn't want to celebrate completing a great run or walk through the hilly countryside?! We encourage you to stop in the winery before race day if you can to enjoy a free tasting when it's a little less packed and purchase your wine bottles ahead of time! While all outside beer, wine and alcohol are prohibited by law, you're more than welcome to bring in a cooler of pre-purchased Mallow Run wines to enjoy during the post-race party. Chill 'em while you run, enjoy 'em when you're done!
-Besides the tasting room, there will be several other spots on the property where you can buy wine by the glass or the bottle and a Fruit & Cheese plate. If the barn is looking packed, move on down to The Shack!
-Food trucks will be serving up delicious eats on the lawn, and folks are also more than welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn while sipping wine and listening to live music. Just remember - only Mallow Run wines permitted! All outside alcohol is prohibited by law.
-While all Mallow Run bars take credit cards, some food vendors may not. There will not be ATMs available on the property, so please plan ahead.
And don't forget to train for a few hills and HAVE A BLAST!
