-- You need to read this blog post, Semantics and Scare Tactics:  "A long time ago, when I was much younger and more nave, I believed that Consumers Union  and its Consumer Reports publication spoke the truth based on science and research. Unfortunately, I think much of the public still believes that and can be swayed by inaccurate and misleading information such as the drug abuse ad."

Dear ,

The countdown to the Midwest Poultry Federation Convention has begun in earnest. Did you know? MTGA/CEAM staff also coordinates the Midwest show - the largest regional poultry convention in the U.S.

Are you planning to attend? If not, you should be! :)

But before the Midwest, we've got Poultry Day at the Capitol coming up next week. Have a great weekend, everyone - stay warm and thanks for reading!

MTGA Annual Meeting & President's Reception

Invitations to the MTGA Annual Meeting and President's Reception have been sent out. And yes - we goofed! - the invitation says the President's hospitality is March 13, but if you've looked at the calendar, then you know the date is actually March 19. Sorry for the confusion, everyone!

MTGA Annual Meeting - March 19 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre from 11:30 am-1:30 pm; keynote speaker is Trent Loos so do not miss this!

President's Reception - March 19 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - NEW location this year on the 22nd floor, immediately following the Best Veterinary Solutions hospitality reception. Finally - a bigger room to accommodate all of our guests. Could there be a pyramid be in our future? Show up to find out!

 Carl Stromberg Memorial Scholarship

Carl Stromberg

was a 2001 graduate in Agricultural & Food Business Management and Animal Production Systems. After his passing last summer, a group of his friends felt that creating a scholarship in his memory was the ideal way to carry on his enthusiasm for what he loved.

Carl was the recipient of several scholarships through CFANS that helped him pursue his degree in a field of study he loved, poultry. The "Carl Stromberg Memorial Scholarship" at the University of Minnesota will be awarded annually to students looking to pursue a career in the poultry industry - something that meant the world to Carl. This fund is endowed and will exist in perpetuity. If you are interested in contributing to this fund you may do so using this form; all donations are tax deductible.
