When Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS) started over 41 years ago we couldn't have imagined that we would have so much work to do.
During 2014-15 Elk Grove Food Bank Service (EGFBS) served 54,490 people and 152,188 meals. Our Clothes Closet
served 18,976 individuals, which includes families and children throughout the Elk Grove Unified School District. The largest
increase in our client population is in our senior community, 280%. In 2010 the monthly average was 247 seniors served,
the average in 2015 is over 900 seniors served each month.
Our goal in 2016 is to bring more awareness to the growing number of food-insecure individuals and families in our
local community. Those in our community who struggle with hunger aren't always who you think they are. That's
something we say a lot at the EGFBS, and we see the evidence all around us, especially among our seniors and children.
Your generous contribution of food, funds and gift of time supports the many programs of EGFBS. We are incredibly
grateful for your willingness to support your "local" Food Bank. Thank you for your commitment to our mission. Please know
that 94 cents of every dollar donated goes to programs and services.
One of the greatest joys of this season is to say THANK YOU on behalf of our staff, board of directors and volunteers
and to wish you the very best for the New Year!
Warmest Wishes,
Marie
