Winter Break Information

Residents of the Heritage Apartments are permitted to stay during the University closure periods. However, access to campus resources will be very limited during this time. 

Finals Quiet Hours (24 HOURS)

Quiet hours are in effect 24 hours starting Thursday, December 7th at 11 pm. Noise violations during finals period will be treated more severely and may result in a resident required to vacate housing immediately. Please be sensitive to your roommates and neighbors!

Leaving for break? Don't forget the following:
Complete these tasks if leaving for an extended period. Charges may be assessed for any damage resulting from improper care of your apartment. 
  • Remove all perishable foods and place other food items in plastic, sealed containers.
  • Remove ALL trash and recycling from your room and/or apartment and deposit into appropriate receptacles.
  • Remove all winter decorations especially those outside.
  • Close and lock windows. Close your curtains.
  • Take all VALUABLES with you (medication, tickets, ID/passport, electronics, important papers and fish).
  • Turn off all lights in rooms and bathrooms.
  • Return OZZI containers and dishware removed from the dining center.
  • Review the safety guidelines for your room; refer to your Housing and Residence Life Handbook - Policies and Behavioral Standards section available at and address potential safety/policy violations.
  • Lock your room and front door and take your keys with you.

Limited Campus Services
Campus services during the winter break are limited. Please see the websites below for more information.
Apartment Maintenance
With notification the Heritage maintenance team may access
your apartment on an as needed basis over the break. As we do not yet know the extent of work to be done advanced notice may not be possible.

Lock-Outs & Lost Key's
Don't forget your keys! If you get locked out of your apartment during business hours you may visit the Heritage office. After business hours please call Heritage emergency maintaince at (209) 769-4416, and a maintenance staff member will respond as soon as possible. Please note, a $100 lock-out fee will be charged to your student account!

Vacancies in your Apartment
I f there are currently vacant beds in your apartment, please make sure they are cleared before leaving for break. We will be having new residents join us for the Spring semester and want to make sure the space is welcoming when they move in. You will be notified over break if you will be getting a new roommate or suitemate.
