Dear Friends,
2015 promises to be an exciting year for RISE! We remain committed to increasing understanding of Autism for families, educators, and related providers. We will offer a variety of educational workshops and our annual conference promises to be bigger and better than ever before!
We will increase families' access to sensory-friendly events and outings by offering at least 4 events this year. We are thrilled to announce that our grant program, which focuses on financially assisting families' with therapies and services not covered by insurance, will continue for 2015. Look for applications in July!
We were so pleased with the gains made on the development of our Safety Project. This program will target the reduction of cases of wandering and elopement in our area. We cannot thank the AACo Police Department for their support and dedication to this project. We will roll this program out at a "Family Fun Safety Day", it promises to change the face of safety in our county!
Finally, we are excited to announce we will be hiring a Director this year! The Director will focus on the creation of future service delivery programs, in addition to managing many of the existing events, projects, and fundraisers. RISE hopes to offer a range of needed services to children, teens, and adults in the coming years.
We will continue to fundraise throughout the year to realize each of these initiatives. RISE has grown more in the past few years than we could have imagined and it is largely in part to the generosity of our community sponsors. We make it a point not to solicit funds from families impacted by Autism for these events, but just hope you will spread the word. Event fundraising helps support workshops and conferences, family events (e.g. "Sensory Friendly" Santa), our grant and safety program, and future service programs.
