Winter Updates and Information

February is underway and we are quickly approaching performance time for our competitive students and recreational classes will have started work on their Recital routines. February and March can be difficult months for students, as the excitement of Christmas is over and the thrill of dancing on stage seems far away. Hang in there! With hard work, comes great reward! We are happy to have you as part of our dance family and we can't wait to celebrate your achievements.

Recital 2017 - "Be Our Guest"

Rehearsal: Friday June 9th

Shows: Saturday June 10th

This years' Recital theme is "Be Our Guest". Recital is amazing time as it allows our students to showcase all their hard work to friends and family.

Location:

The location for both the rehearsal and shows is the John L. Haar theatre in West Edmonton

Rehearsal:

The Friday June 9th rehearsal will be in the evening. All recreational classes ages 6 years and older, as well as those students participating in our Finale performance will be required to attend. The schedule will be released in late April/early May

Shows:

We will be following a similar format to last year. There will be an 11:00am show for our Tiny Toes, Preschool and Kinder classes. Then we will have both a 1:00pm and 5:00pm show for our recreational and competitive classes. A list of which classes will be performing in which show will be released in late April.

Tickets:

Tickets will go on sale through the studio office in early May. More details to come.

Picture Week

May 23rd - 29th

Picture week for all classes including Recreational and Competitive classes will be from May 23rd - 29th and will take place at the studio. More details will be included in the Recital newsletter in early May.

Student Appreciation!

Upcoming events

We are so proud of the many talented and kind hearted students we have at our school. It's so wonderful to see students helping each other out both in and outside of class time. It's such a great feeling as a teacher when you see a student achieve a new step or improve in their technique. We appreciate the commitment both students and their parents make to attend class and grow as both dancers and leaders through the skills they learn each week.

In celebration of our students and parents, this year we will be holding several appreciation events, including:

- Our new Student of the Week initiative! We have so many wonderful students that picking one "Student of the Year" is just too hard, so we thought, why not recognize as many students as we can! Starting in March each week we will be recognizing one student. This student will be featured on our Facebook page, and receive some recognition in a fun way ;)

- End of the year Family BBQ! We are going to be holding a family BBQ for all our students and their families in June. More details to come.

Tax Receipts

Check your email inbox!

Tax receipts have been emailed out to the email we have on file. Please note you will have received 2 emails: one for January - June 2016 and one for June - December 2016. These receipts will look slightly different as we transitioned over to a new system during the summer of 2016. If you required further details or have any questions, please contact our office staff.

Jazz & Tap Exams

ADAPT Jazz & Tap Exams have been scheduled for June 4th & 5th this year. All invited students will receive email invitations after Spring Break.

Parent Portal

Don't forget about your ability to look at your account online!

Every family registered at our school has access to the Parent Portal system. Links to our new Parent Portal system can be found in the drop down menu on our website under "events & deadlines", as well in the footer of every page on our website. We hope you enjoy having access to your account and class information throughout the year. As this is a new feature for us, feedback is always welcome.
