Why are we so proud of a bar graph? Because with treatment from the Kansas City CARE Clinic and other Ryan White-system partners, those in Kansas City living with HIV or AIDS are significantly healthier than others nationwide. Our patients have higher levels of being introduced into care, more often stay in regular treatment, and have more than DOUBLE the incidence suppressing the disease to an undetectable state. This means that those in Kansas City living with HIV and AIDS are leading longer, healthier lives than the national average, and is only possible because of the support the community has provided to the Clinic and other HIV/AIDS care providers. Results from HRSA visit: On November 8th HRSA completed a 3-day site visit to the Clinic, reviewing our Ryan White (HIV) programming. Some of the quotes from the closing conference: "...this is like home for them...staff has great pride in what they do...for one patient, care is better here than in 40 years of private insurance care..." The lead reviewer closed with "For the first time in doing this for 15 years, I have no findings - you do excellent work."
