Wolf Haven Sanctuary and the Future of Wolves in North America
Wolf Haven book highlights the beauty
and dignity of wolves
After months of anticipation, we are excited to announce the publication of the book "Wolf Haven Sanctuary and the Future of Wolves in North America". Seattle-based photographer Annie Marie Musselman and essayist Brenda Peterson combined their unique talents to create a stunning coffee table book. Musselman spent several years photographing the wolves living at our sanctuary while wildlife writer Peterson documented their stories.
A Seattle Town Hall will take place on Oct. 13, during which the photographer and author will share their experiences being around the wolves of Wolf Haven. A panel discussion including Wolf Haven staff will follow.
Since 1990, wolf advocacy groups and individuals have set aside one week in October to highlight wolf recovery and science-based wolf education. A poster contest is sponsored, and this year's winning artwork is called "Picking up the Scent".
Wolf Haven is participating in a variety of activities to highlight wolves during
Wolf Awareness Week.
We will also post wolf facts and trivia on our FaceBook and Twitter pages throughout the week. Wolf Awareness Week is always the third full week in October (next year: Oct. 15-21).
