Dear Parents,

Today at 12:45 PM  in the GYM we will have our last Lenten prayer service as we ready for the three most holy days in the Church.  The Triduum will begin with Holy Thursday Mass celebrated at 7:30 PM, the Passion of the Lord at 3:00 PM on Friday and close with the Easter Vigil Mass at 7:30 PM on Saturday evening.  These special services are a wonderful way to help your family prepare for the great celebration of Easter.

Following the prayer service today will be a  1:30 PM early dismissal as we begin our Easter break.  School will resume on  April 13th.

Also please note that today at  Noon the 3rd quarter progress reports will be emailed to parents.

Safe travels to those families who are traveling for vacation or travelling to celebrate with out of town family.

On behalf of the entire school staff of Saint Brigid of Kildare, we would like to wish all of our families a blessed and holy Easter.

Sincerely,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Congrats to the cast and crew of the Wizard of Oz Musical! They put on three highly-talented performances last week that were enjoyed by hundreds.

A special thank you to Miss Julia Trap and Mar Frommeyer for their endless hours in directing this production. Thank you also to the many parent volunteers who helped with the production including Carolyn Kramer, Larrie Habel, Ken Heigel, Shelley Reardon, Traci Markert, Liz Koehler, Rich Habel, Stacie Wililams, Greg Svatora, Denise Wible, Jill Cecutti, Mary Beckwith and Amy Yaich.

Additionally, a big thank you to the many parent volunteers who assisted the creative team with countless hours of work to create costumes and play sets to help our students have a fun learning-filled opportunity to enjoy musical theater.

It was a truly amazing performance that couldn't have been put on without all of their help!

This is the second time Liam has participated in this event, as he did so last year as a seventh grade student as well. Congrats Liam on this wonderful accomplishment!

Corks for a Cause Raised Over $80,000 for SPiCE
We are excited to announce that the 2015 Corks for a Cause event raised over  $80,000  to help the children at St. Brigid!  This is an amazing accomplishment and could not have been done without the donations, volunteer hours and support of our St. Brigid community. A special thanks to our event co-chairs Katie Allen and Lesa Herold for their leadership, organization and hours of dedication.

If you attended the event this year, we would like you to complete a short survey on the event. This will help us as we begin planning the 2016 Corks for a Cause.

Avery Road/Muirfield Drive Intersection - New Traffic Pattern Changes

The City of Dublin is making progress on the intersection improvements at Avery Road and Muirfield Drive.

On Thursday, April 2, 2015 Avery Road will reopen to traffic. Tullymore Drive traffic will be rerouted to Tara Hill Drive/Wexford Woods Drive.  Drivers can take Tara Hill Drive as an alternate route. The Tullymore Drive detour is expected to be in place for approximately two to three weeks.

The Avery Road detour, west of the Muirfield Drive intersection, will remain in effect until Thursday, April 2. Drivers can take Tara Hill Drive as an alternate route.

This is part of a larger project that will also include improvements to the intersection of Tullymore Drive and Avery-Muirfield Drive and median modifications along Avery-Muirfield Drive. Separate left turn lanes will be added on Avery-Muirfield Drive for Avery Road and Tullymore Road.

Lane restrictions on Avery-Muirfield Drive will occur intermittently throughout the project duration. The improvements are scheduled for completion in May.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will be posted.

K-4 Canyon Author Visit

Local children's book illustrators, Jeannette and Christopher Canyon visited our school on Tuesday, March 24th and shared their art and music with our students in kindergarten through fourth grades. All classes enjoyed learning about the artists and seeing how they created their art work.  Jeannette shared how she creates her pictures using polymer clay and a variety of unusual tools. Christopher shared the steps he takes in creating his watercolor illustrations and sang songs from his books that were inspired by the music of John Denver.  Our students and staff enjoyed singing and clapping as Mr. Canyon sang and played his guitar.  The Canyons both added a drawing and their signatures to our library wall of authors and artists who have visited our school. It was a wonderful visit!
