Dear Parents,

I hope you had a blessed and joyous Easter with your families.

This is an important week for our 8th graders.  On Friday, April 17th Bishop Campbell will be visiting our parish to confirm our 184 parish children.  Please pray for our parish confirmandi as they take the next formal step in their faith formation.

(Please keep in mind that the parking lot will be filling up quickly for the 4:00 PM Mass on Friday, so bus and car rider dismissal may be a little tricky.)

Our 7th grade class is also having an exciting week.  Today they are participating in a six hour program called "Challenge Day," which is being funded by a very generous benefactor.  This national award winning program is designed for middle school students to go beyond traditional anti-bullying assemblies, building empathy and igniting a spirit of compassion and positive change.  Students are invited to be a part of "Being the Change."  The "Be the Change" movement inspires people to notice what's happening in the world around them, to choose actions that create positive change, and to act as a living example of the power of contribution and compassion.  To read more about this program click on the following link:  http://bethechange.challengeday.org/?page_id=460.   This wonderful opportunity is also a great follow-up to themes of acceptance, tolerance and compassion that were presented in the book "Wonder."  As we all know, the intentional teaching of these life lessons is more important than ever before in our society and in our faith.

Please take an extra few minutes this week to pray for all of our middle school students as they experience opportunities to help them grow and become faith-filled Catholic leaders in the community.

Reminder this Thursday is Early Release at 1:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Please give us your input using this short SURVEY  so we can plan the program with sensitivity toward your student's needs.

Gifts of Gratitude Year-End Gifts

Do you always find yourself looking high and low for the perfect end-of-year gifts for your children's teachers?

Consider participating in the Gifts of Gratitude program, Saint Brigid's gift giving program for ALL teachers and staff.

The Home and School Association established Gifts of Gratitude as a united effort by families to provide generous gifts for all teachers and staff to thank them for sharing their talents with our children on a daily basis.

Each family's $20 contribution per child provides for each teacher and staff member:

  • A special end-of-year gift item and monetary gift card

Your family's participation in this program is optional. The suggested annual gift amount is $20 per child; however, any amount given is graciously accepted. IF YOU ALREADY CONTRIBUTED BEFORE CHRISTMAS, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO CONTRIBUTE AGAIN!

There are two payment options:

1)      Quick and easy: pay securely through PayPal! Log on to www.paypal.com, choose the "send money to friends and family" option, enter the email address [email protected] and the total amount your family would like to contribute, and complete the transaction.

2)      Send a check to school with your child payable to St. Brigid Home and School. Please mark the outside of the envelope with "Home and School Gifts of Gratitude."

Please send your contribution by Friday, May 15.

Questions regarding the Gifts of Gratitude program may be directed to Home & School Association Vice Co-Chairs: Mary Moore at [email protected] and Theresa Vivona at [email protected].
