Book Launch Event with Mrs. Jennifer Maschari

St. Brigid teacher and author, Jennifer Maschari, will be celebrating the launch of her newest middle grade novel, THINGS THAT SURPRISE YOU, on  September 9th from 1 - 3 pm at the Barnes and Noble off of Sawmill Road in Dublin ( 3685 W Dublin Granville Rd). Books will be available for purchase, and there will be unicorn-themed cupcakes and other fun!

THINGS THAT SURPRISE YOU is the story of 12-year-old Emily Murphy's difficult transition to middle school. It's a bighearted poignant novel about the often shifting bonds of family and friendship. It's perfect for readers in grades 5 - 8. Kirkus Reviews calls it "a fine read" and School Library Journal says, "Readers will relate to Emily's growing pains and the rewards of finding positive support."

EPIC Middle School Youth Group is forming now for the 2017-2018 School Year!

Be a part of St. Brigid of Kildare's growing Middle School Youth Group. With over 200 members from St. Brigid School, Grizzell, Karrer, Sells and other local schools, EPIC is a great place to earn Confirmation service hours with your friends, be part of the St. Brigid community and grow actively in your faith.

We meet once per month from September through April. Students attend 12:15 pm Mass together, come to Hendrick's Hall for pizza, games and discussion and complete two hours of meaningful service with their friends.

To Sign Up: go to the Middle School Youth Group page on the parish website here and fill out the electronic registration, or contact Kim VanHuffel at [email protected]. Seventh graders MUST re-register. Once you sign up, you will receive all communications about the program, including the schedule once it is finalized. There is no cost to participate.

Register by August 15 to receive a free tshirt.
