Dear Parents,

Yesterday the legend of Saint Nicholas was used to help teach our students the importance of generosity and selfless giving.  Our 20 year tradition of St. Nicholas appearing on horseback began our day!  After the students gathered at the classroom windows to watch St. Nick ride by on his horse we gathered as CARE families to watch a movie about the legend of St. Nicholas.  The students then worked together as a family to create special artwork and little gifts to include with our offerings to the Dublin Food Pantry.

I would like to recognize our 5th - 8th grade music students for sharing their musical talents with the community.  Last week our students hosted parents, grandparents and friends of the community for a beautiful evening of Lessons and Carols.  Last evening our 5th - 8th grade band students shared their talents at the Watterson area band concert. Both events were very well done and provided a great way to enjoy the season.  I would also like to recognize our teachers, Ms. Crystal Bensonhaver and Nathan Graham for leading, encouraging and inspiring our young musicians.

Advent Blessings,

Kathy O'Reilly

A Visit from St. Nicholas Yesterday

Keep the conversation going is weekly feature designed to keep up the dialogue that began with Dr. Sax's presentation on The Collapse of Parenting. We'll share resources to help guide parents in today's socially and technologically complicated world.

Wondering if your son or daughter is ready for their first smartphone?

Here are 4 things to consider before making the purchase, along with some useful monitoring tools.

Read the article here.

If you have resources you'd like to share with other parents, please email them to Allie Wing at mrs.wing@stbrigid-school.org.

Weather Closing & Delays Reminder

Just a reminder that if we need to close or delay our start time we will go with the decision of Dublin City Schools.  We are NOT a part of the Columbus Catholic Schools decisions for closings/delays.  If Olentangy or Hilliard delays or closes and Dublin and St. Brigid are open, it is up to the parent to provide transportation if you choose to send your child to school.

Parents will receive an email and phone call when school is delayed or closed. Please log in to SchoolSpeak and make sure your email address and phone number is up to date so you don't miss the call or email.

RSVP and take the parent survey at http://www.stbrigidofkildare.org/conversation

Men's Inception Retreat Friday - Still Time to Register

From parishioner & St. Brigid parent Sean White:
I am humbled to be the MC at this year's St. Brigid Men's  Inception Retreat on  Dec 9th held at St. Therese Retreat Center. There is room for 50 men at this 1 day retreat, that personally changed my faith life in 2010, after about 10 yrs of taking up space in a pew. More on that at the retreat!

We'll have dinner, hear a lay witness talk from 2 of our parishioners, have some talks with our clergy, fellowship, and a few other parts ending with  5pm Mass on Saturday, home in time for parties and back with the family.

You'll have your own room and meals, coffee, snacks are provided. The theme of this retreat is "becoming a better version of yourself".

I'd like to invite you to attend. From my experience, it's a great way to end your year and prepare for the next. Nothing but good things come out of this 24 hrs. It's a short, impactful time to awaken, renew, or grow your faith.

Click here for the registration form.

Bring a friend! Hope to see you there! Sean White, Parishioner
