Dear Parents,
Wishing you a
Happy New Year
with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come. As the routine of back to school and work takes place this week, it is time to start planning ahead to a busy January.
Please start planning for the following January events. The annual school Spelling Bee will take place on Wednesday, January 17th at 1:15 pm in the gym. Student-led conferences will take place on January 24th and 25th and Catholic Schools Week will be the week of January 29th.
Just a few comments regarding weather related closings.
For Monday morning's school cancellation, we used a list that only contacted one phone number and email per person. If you did not receive a call or email, we apologize for the miss! That does not mean we don't have your phone number listed correctly. We will use the list that contacts all numbers and emails if we have another important message to send. However, this is a good time to login to
SchoolSpeak
and verify that your contact information is correct (after you login, click your username in the top right corner, then click My Profile. Make any changes necessary, then click Update at the bottom).
Please also keep in mind that for closures or delays we always follow Dublin City Schools. When the TV or radio announces Columbus Catholic Schools, they are referring to the Catholic schools that are in the Columbus City Schools boundaries. If St. Brigid and Dublin Schools are open and your district of residence is closed or delayed, you are then responsible for your child's school transportation that day. Safety is always at the forefront of these decisions.
Blessings for healthy, happy and faith-filled new year,
Kathy O'Reilly

January Meeting:
Our next EPIC youth group will be January 21, when we will host the Downs Syndrome Association of Central Ohio's (DSACO) school-aged social group. Our EPIC kids will be the hosts and big buddies of the kids with Downs Syndrome, and will lead each of the fun stations that they will visit, including games, an obstacle course, a dance station, and a sensory station. They will also serve snack to the kids and their parents.
If you know of someone grades k-6 with Downs Syndrome, please invite them to our event and let Kim VanHuffel know, so she will have an idea how many kids to plan for. The more the merrier! It should be a fun day for the kids and will be a great introduction to DSACO for them and their parents as well.
As always, we will begin with 12:15 p.m. Mass by the baptismal font and then come to Hendrick's Hall for pizza prior to our guests arriving. Pickup will be at 4:15 p.m. Please RSVP to Kim.
EPIC Registration:
If you have a child interested in joining EPIC, don't worry, it is never too late to join! EPIC is for all 7th and 8th graders of the parish. Simply go to the parish website at
stbrigidofkildare.org, and select "Youth" and "Middle School Youth Group" from the drop down menu. Then fill out the online registration form at the bottom of the page under "links." There is no fee to participate. If you have questions, contact Kim VanHuffel at
kvanhuffel@stbrigidofkildare.org.
