Dear Parents,

As we prepare to turn the calendar to August the countdown begins to the first day of school when students will be greeted by our bagpiper at  8:00 am on  August 23rd.  Our annual Parent Administration and Meet The Teacher day will be on  Monday, August 21st from  4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.  All parents are invited to stop in and take care of back to school business and students are invited to meet their new teachers for the 2017-18 school year.  The school calendar is currently available on our school website.

Continue to enjoy the great summer weather, remember to have the students work on their summer math and reading practice. See the story below about sending in pictures of your children reading this summer. Teachers are reading too! As a st aff we are reading Strengths Based Leadership for our summer book club and we will be using concepts and ideas from this book as we work with your children this year. There is nothing better than enjoying a good   book on a beautiful summer day at Lake Erie.

Continue to pray for each other and for the St. Brigid School community and have a safe and fun month of August!

Summer blessings,

Kathy O'Reilly

SPICE Summer Get Moving Program

The St. Brigid of Kildare SPiCE Wellness and Get Moving program is sponsoring a series of fun, active events this summer such as soccer, yoga, volleyball, and a dance party. The main objective is to get children moving twice a week for 2 hours in a fun, non-competitive setting. Remember to bring a water bottle!

The Summer Get Moving program takes place June 6 - August 10, 2017. You must sign up for each individual session online. A parent consent/medical form must be turned in at your child's first session. All students entering K-6th grade in St. Brigid School, Parish, and Religious Ed are welcome, and the program will be especially sensitive to kids with special needs.  All 7th-12th grades are welcome to volunteer as helpers throughout the program; please contact Morgan Ventresco at  ventreme1515@gmail.com if interested.

TO SIGN UP:
  1. Sign up for individual sessions here
  2. Complete the Medical Form and the Parent Consent Form and bring them to your child's first session
EPIC Middle School Youth Group is forming now for the 2017-2018 School Year!

Be a part of St. Brigid of Kildare's growing Middle School Youth Group. With over 200 members from St. Brigid School, Grizzell, Karrer, Sells and other local schools, EPIC is a great place to earn Confirmation service hours with your friends, be part of the St. Brigid community and grow actively in your faith.

We meet once per month from September through April. Students attend 12:15 pm Mass together, come to Hendrick's Hall for pizza, games and discussion and complete two hours of meaningful service with their friends.

To Sign Up: go to the Middle School Youth Group page on the parish website here and fill out the electronic registration, or contact Kim VanHuffel at kvanhuffel@stbrigidofkildare.org. Seventh graders MUST re-register. Once you sign up, you will receive all communications about the program, including the schedule once it is finalized. There is no cost to participate.

Register by August 15 to receive a free tshirt.
