Dear Parents,

I hope that you have been enjoying the first few weeks of summer vacation with your children.  We have been very busy at school with the renovation project.  Please see pictures in the article below.  We currently are not in need of volunteers at this point since the construction workers are busy doing the demo.  We will let you know when we need volunteer assistance again.

Please remind your children to take time each week to read and work on Summer Solutions Math.  Regular practice keeps skills sharp and helps to avoid the "summer slide."

Summer Blessings,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Annual Fund Survey

The Annual Fund is used for classroom parties, wish lists, the ALSO program, field trips, and much more, and replaces traditional fundraising in the school.

The Annual Fund is run by a group of volunteers, who work to get the important message of the fund out to school parents. In order to continuously improve their efforts and communication, the committee asks you to take a very short survey on the program. Thank you for your feedback!

Summer Fitness Program Sign Up

The summer fitness program is up and running! It is a series of active events for children ages 5 to 10. The goal of each session is to provide one hour of physical exercise in a non-competitive setting. In addition, the program leaders will be sensitive to kids with special needs, so no one is excluded from fitness!

The program began on June 15. Activities include a dance party, yoga, Simon Sez and soccer skills.

There is no charge for families to participate in the program, and parents must remain at the events, which will be held on the St. Brigid grounds.

To sign up to participate or volunteer at any of the June events, click here.

More August dates will be released soon.

Parent Like a Champion Today - Aug 19

The next Parent Like a Champion Today training will be offered Wednesday, August 19th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Hendricks Hall.

All parents of incoming 4th and 5th grade students participating in diocesan sports (fall sports include football and volleyball)  will be required  to complete this training before their child may participate.

EPIC Kick-Off: Sept 27

Registration is open for EPIC, Saint Brigid of Kildare's Middle School Youth Group, designed for all 7th and 8th grade students in the parish and Saint Brigid of Kildare School.

The group meets once a month on Sundays during the school year for faith, fun, fellowship, community building and service. Members attend the 12:15 p.m.Mass as a group then meet in Hendricks Halls for prayer and pizza, followed by a fun activity and group discussion. They end the day with a different service project each meeting, some being held in Hendricks Hall and some at off-site locations.

We have some exciting service opportunities lined up for this year!  We will stay in Hendricks Hall on Sept 27 for our service to get to know each other, but will go to Run the Race in October, deliver Thanksgiving meals in November and help with Christmas in Dublin in December.  It is a great way to gain service hours for Confirmation while really making a difference in the community and exploring different types of service with your friends.

To register, visit the parish website at this link. The link to the online registration is at the bottom of the page.  There is no fee to participate.  The deadline to register and receive a t-shirt is July 15.  Please contact Kim VanHuffel at [email protected] or 593-5173 with any questions.
