Dear Parents,

As the school year closes, I look back at some of the highlights of the past year. We have had many wonderful opportunities to celebrate our theme "Disciples on the Journey".   Our students and staff have learned the importance of responsibility, respect and kindness when living a life of discipleship.  We are proud that each and every day we learn and practice the skills and habits, virtues and spiritual gifts that lead young disciples to a higher level of moral thinking and faith formation.  My prayer is that all of us learn something new about our faith every day and that we continue to put our faith into action by being disciples to one another.

I would also be remiss not to mention the fond memories of celebrating our 2nd National Blue Ribbon Award.  We are all so proud of our school and we had such fun celebrating it with a school-wide celebration which included an all school dance party highlighted by everyone dancing the "Blue Ribbon Shuffle."

We have prayed, we have studied and we have played and now it is time to take our summer break to renew, refresh and prepare for the 2015-16 school year.

The next news I share is bittersweet.  Mrs. Jill Carfagna, our assistant principal, has decided to accept a position as an assistant principal with Westerville City Schools.  Jill has served well the students and our whole community for the last seven years in so many roles.  Jill will be working during the month of June here at St. Brigid and will assume her new role mid-July at Hawthorne Elementary.  We will deeply miss Mrs. Carfagna.  Please join me in sending prayers and best wishes to Jill and her family.

Fourth quarter Progress Reports will be distributed through email on Friday, June 5th.

This is our final regular Wolfhound Wednesday for the school year.  However, periodically during the summer months there will be a Wolfhound Wednesday with summer updates.

Thank you for a great year, and on behalf of the entire school faculty and staff we wish you a restful, prayerful and fun-filled summer.

Sincerely,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Summer Fitness Program Sign Up

This summer St. Brigid of Kildare parish will offer a series of active events for children ages 5 to 10. The goal of each session is to provide one hour of physical exercise in a non-competitive setting.

In addition, the program leaders will be sensitive to kids with special needs, so no one is excluded from fitness!

The program will begin on June 15. Activities include a dance party, yoga, Simon Sez and soccer skills.

There will be no charge for families to participate in the program, and parents must remain at the events, which will be held on the St. Brigid grounds.
