Last Day to View Report Cards on SchoolSpeak

Dear Parents,

We had a beautiful closing to our school year with our Leadership Mass.  It is always so wonderful to have so many parents, grandparents, former families and alumni attend this time honored tradition at our school.

A couple weeks ago we asked our 7th graders to participate in two different scholarship opportunities. Two scholarships are funded by the Home and School's Annual Fund, and two scholarships are funded by our Athletic Association. The students were asked to demonstrate in either written or spoken form how they embody our school mission statement and live a life of discipleship. Our review panel, made up neutral guest evaluators, has selected the following 4 students based on their responses to the essay question or interview, their reference letters and their service to the community to each receive a $500 scholarship.

Congratulations to:
  • Kate Drab
  • Ali Hayek
  • Sofia Roncone
  • Patrick Lynch
Just a reminder that today you will be receiving the final report card in your inbox.

Also, it is not too late to sign up for our Summer Get Moving program (see story below).

In closing, I once again wish everyone a blessed, safe and fun summer.

Kathy O'Reilly

SPICE Summer Get Moving Program

The St. Brigid of Kildare SPiCE Wellness and Get Moving program is sponsoring a series of fun, active events this summer such as soccer, yoga, volleyball, and a dance party. The main objective is to get children moving twice a week for 2 hours in a fun, non-competitive setting. Remember to bring a water bottle!

The Summer Get Moving program takes place June 6 - August 10, 2017. You must sign up for each individual session online. A parent consent/medical form must be turned in at your child's first session. All students entering K-6th grade in St. Brigid School, Parish, and Religious Ed are welcome, and the program will be especially sensitive to kids with special needs.  All 7th-12th grades are welcome to volunteer as helpers throughout the program; please contact Morgan Ventresco at  [email protected] if interested.

TO SIGN UP:
  1. Sign up for individual sessions here
  2. Complete the Medical Form and the Parent Consent Form and bring them to your child's first session

If you would not like to order supplies through SchoolKidz, you can use the supply list in this week's Friday folders, purchase the items over the summer, and have your child bring them with them the first day of school

Order online at  http://www.shopttkits.com/ and use our school's code 12621.

Note for 5th & 6th Grades:
In addition to your school supply kit, please also have your child bring a pair of headphones that is comfortable to them.

Keep Collecting Box Tops

Keep collecting Box Tops over the summer and turn them in to your homeroom teacher when school begins.  We plan to have another contest after we return to school!
Educational Apparel Summer Sale

Educational Apparel is having their back to school uniform sale, offering 20% off in June and 15% off in July.
Altar Server Training is June 26

All students in the fifth grade and older are invited to become Altar Servers for the Weekend and Holy Day Masses.

We are urging all those in fifth grade and above to consider becoming an Altar Server. You will have only one class to attend, one short section from the Liturgical Ministry Manual to read and study, and three mentoring sessions with an experienced Altar Server. Do this and you are ready to be scheduled as an Altar Server. It is a rewarding service!

Our next training session for Altar Servers is Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Church from 6:00 pm until 7:45 pm. Please register by June 12 so that we can be prepared to welcome you.
