Dear Parents,

Another wonderful week of winter weather is almost behind us with the hint of 40 degree temperatures next week.  The weather may not be the best, but our school community is not letting a little snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures get in the way of preparing the Corks For A Cause event sponsored by our SPiCE organization.  As always,  I am impressed with the generosity of time, talent and treasure that our school community is willing to share for the benefit of our children.  The committee has worked tirelessly and so many families and friends of the school and parish have donated items for the auction.  The event this  coming Saturday marks the 10th anniversary of the SPiCE program at St. Brigid of Kildare supporting the specialized learning needs of the children in our community.

I am both proud and humbled by the dedication of this community to support our SPICE program.

Sincerely,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Power of Pen Regional Finalists

We recently learned that nine out of our 12 seventh and eighth grade writers have qualified to advance to the regional level of Power of the Pen.

Advancing to the regional level means that they have scored in the top 55% of participants from the district tournament, which included 19 schools from across central Ohio. The seventh graders who qualified are Megan Gawronski, Luke Hinsman, and Henry Owens. The eighth graders are Lauren Allison, Elizabeth D'sa, Jacob Egelhoff, Mandy Flanagan, Jenna Mar, and Liam O'Reilly.

These nine students will compete at regionals on March 14th, where they will attempt to qualify for the state level in May.

In addition, our entire 8th grade team advanced to regionals intact, which is a great accomplishment.
