Student-led conferences will take place at home on
May 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Pick a time/date that will work with your family schedule to spend an important 30 minutes to review your child's work products, test data, progress, and goals for the last half of the school year. Students will be bringing home on Monday his/her student-led conference packet.
On
May 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, we will have a Celebration of Learning Open House so that we can gather together and celebrate the outstanding growth and learning experiences of all of our students. We will also be recognizing the retirement of Mrs. Maureen DiDomenico, preschool director, with a reception in the preschool rooms. Join us for music, a family PE challenge, a blessing of our new garden mosaic (see photos of the mosaic building project below!), visitors from the 7th grade wax museum, and drone challenges, just to name a few of the exciting exhibits of learning next week.

Meals on Wheels Delivery Opportunity Informational Meeting May 23
There is a strong need to provide and deliver meals for the elderly in Columbus. You and your family have the chance to partner with LifeCare Alliance's Meals on Wheels program to help keep our aging neighbors in their homes, where they want to be. Our children will see the good they are doing in their community by handing over a hot meal to someone in need, while spending some quality time with their family.
We are looking to recruit 20-25 families to volunteer so that we can "adopt" a full route. We have both weekend and weekday volunteer opportunities, and you can work the route as frequently or as infrequently as you would like. We are asking for a commitment of at least once per month. We would like to get the route started as soon as possible, once we have 20-25 families signed up and trained.
Meals will be picked up at 10:30am at LifeCare Alliance, 670 Harmon Ave. and delivered in neighborhoods throughout the city. Each route takes between 1 - 2 hours to complete. We will have an informational meeting and training session on Wednesday May 23 at 6:00 pm in Hendricks Hall. Please contact Nancy Davis at 336-337-4421 to RSVP, or with any other questions you might have. |
