Dear Parents,

I would like to thank our school community for the tremendous show of support by attending our Blue Ribbon Celebration on Sunday.  What a great day for us to celebrate our community....the dedication, hard work and shared mission of Catholic faith formation to inspire life long learners and leaders in the twenty first century.

Enjoy the pictures and videos from last week's festivities!

Have a great week,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Saints Room Naming Contest
We created 11 new student spaces that are designed for 21st century learning. To name the new rooms, we held a contest for students to name them after a saint.

We then created new signs outside each of the new spaces that show a picture of the saint, some information about the saint, and a quote from that saint. Take a journey through the school to find the new signs to learn all about the saints the rooms are named after!

Congratulations to the following students who won the saint naming contest:

Banana Splits (Divorce) Group
Beginning December 3, 2014, Ms. Williams is starting the Banana Splits program for grades kindergarten - fourth (Ms. Williams has found that students in the upper hall, grades five - eight, prefer to be seen on a one to one basis.  This service will be provided for any student.).  The Banana Splits group is going to meet during lunch periods once a month on Wednesdays, December 10, January 14, February 11, March 18, April 29 and May 13.

This support group is designed for children who are living with a single parent for any reason, living with a guardian or a relative, going between houses (parents who are separated or divorced),  etc.  This group is a great way for students to see that they are not alone, to discuss concerns and to do activities to help work through these challenging times.

Everything within the group is confidential.  The students are going to  be reminded that what is said in the room stays in the room.  They are going to be encouraged to go home and discuss the lessons and any concerns with their loved ones.  If any related concern arises, Ms. Williams is going to notify parents immediately.

If your child is interested in joining our group, please sign the permission form below and return, attention:  Stacie Williams, Counselor, no later than Tuesday,  November, 25th.

Artists in School Sponsored by Annual Fund

Did you know that the Annual Fund pays for the Artists in School program?  This program brings in groups and individuals that share their talents and expose your children to the arts in a variety of ways.  Some of the programs that your children will enjoy this year include:

  • Mr. Scrooge -- a live theater production and workshop from the Columbus Children's Theater (December 9)
  • Frisch Marionettes
  • Shelley Pearsall -- a native Ohioan historical fiction author
  • COSI on Wheels -- exploring ecology

In October the students enjoyed Einstein Alive an educational performance arts program that blends science and entertainment.  Writer and actor Marc Spiegel took on the appearance and personality of famous physicist Albert Einstein as he educated the students on the topics of matter, energy, frame of reference, and the theory of relativity.  Marc Spiegel delivered his message through engaging song, dance, and visual demonstrations.

This program is just one of the many important educational benefits from your support of the Annual Fund.  Please consider supporting the Annual Fund by using this link.

Any questions please contact Sarah Moore in the parish office 761-3734 or at [email protected].

Boys Tennis Club Team Organizing
Middle school boys in grades 6-8 are invited to join St. Brigid's boys' club tennis team.

Once a week indoor practices begin in late February. The match season begins after spring break and concludes in mid-May.

Fundamental tennis skills are required but prior match-play experience is not necessary. And the weekdays-only schedule makes it possible to play tennis as a second spring sport.

Interested players are asked to sign up by December 10.  Please visit www.gowolfhounds.org/club-sports-2 for more information or contact Denise Wible at [email protected].
