Dear Parents,

Today is All Soul's Day, a day when we remember all of those who have died.  This includes people we have loved who have gone before us.  Our students have the opportunity this month to write the names of loved ones in our school's Book of Remembrance.  Each morning during our morning prayer we will pray for those mentioned in our book.

This Friday you will find in your child's (3rd - 8th grade) Friday Folder a letter announcing a new addition to our safe school environment program.  We are adding additional software to our server called "Go Guardian"  to assist with keeping all of our students who have been issued school email addresses safe.  The letter will explain in more detail about this service. Please read the letter and have you and your child sign it and return to school on Monday.  We are excited to be able to offer this additional level of security to help keep our students safe.

School pictures will be coming home today.  If you are not satisfied with the pictures or your child missed picture day,  re-takes will be available on November 9th.  Please send with your child on November 9th the picture packet complete with the uncut photos.

There will be no school Mass tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Kathy O'Reilly

Keep the conversation going is weekly feature designed to keep up the dialogue that began with Dr. Sax's presentation on The Collapse of Parenting. We'll share resources to help guide parents in today's socially and technologically complicated world.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has released new policy recommendations and resources to help families maintain a healthy media diet.

They have also published an interactive, online tool so families can create a personalized Family Media Use Plan.

How much screen time is too much for kids?
Watch the video below for more.

If you have resources you'd like to share with other parents, please email them to Allie Wing at [email protected].

New Keep the Conversation Going Group on Mobile App
Have you downloaded the parish mobile app yet? It's a great resource for QUICK access to the parish directory, Mass times, daily readings, the bulletin, parish news, the parish calendar, the Wolfhound Wednesday, Common Threads, Gospel Reflections and much more. Just download the "myParish" app in the app store, then select St. Brigid of Kildare as your parish.

There's a new group on the app called Parents: Keep the conversation going. This group will share resources to help guide parents in today's socially and technologically complicated world.

To join: open the app then tap "Groups" then scroll down to "Parents: Keep the conversation going" and tap "Join Group." You'll be prompted to create a login for the app. After doing so, you will be added to the group where you'll be able to view parenting resources and add your own resources to share with others.
Or to join even faster: use this direct link to the group on a mobile phone:   https://mypari.sh/nmhs

For questions regarding the app or joining the group, contact Allie Wing at [email protected] .

Labels for Education

Please send in any UPCs with the Labels for Education logo that you have collected.  This program is being discontinued however we are able to collect and submit all UPCs with the Label for Education logo until the end of this school year.  If you have any that have not been turned in, please send with your child in an envelope marked "Home & School - Labels for Education" or place in receptacle located in the cafeteria near garden windows.

Three New Programs Offered through Syntero

Syntero, Inc., formerly Dublin Counseling Center, is a local non-profit agency that has been serving Dublin residents for 40 years. Thanks to generous funding from the City of Dublin, Syntero's senior supportive services have now been expanded and are available to Saint Brigid of Kildare parishioners in Dublin. There is no charge for these services -- see below for details on the three opportunities available.

Helping Older Adults
Are you a concerned family member of a senior?  Are you looking for ways for a senior to continue to live at home safely, or to get help with transportation or shopping?  Learn more about the new programs St. Brigid of Kildare is partnering with Syntero to offer.

Linking Volunteers with Older Adults in Need
Do you have the time to help an older parishioner in need? Many seniors in our parish are in need of transportation services, home visits, or other help. If you have any time at all and feel the call to help a parishioner in need, please contact us. Any amount of time you're able to give is enough! Learn more.

Helping Caregivers of Older Adults
Do you care for an older adult and need help or guidance? St. Brigid is partnering with Syntero to offer new services to help caregivers of older adults for no charge. Learn more.

Musical Auditions

Auditions for Seussical Jr. will be the week of  December 5th.  All students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are eligible to participate.

You can find recordings of the music for the entire show on our website here.

More information on auditions will be available next week!
Thanksgiving Meal Donations Needed

Our EPIC students would like to invite parishioners to donate a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need in our community. Our students will deliver the meals directly to the homes of recipients on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20. No cooking is necessary. A shopping list will be provided and the approximate cost is $50. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

If you would like to donate, please contact Kim VanHuffel at [email protected]. If you are able to drop the box off at the St. Brigid parking lot on November 20 at 2:30 p.m., we will have middle schoolers there waiting to help unload the box from your car and reload it into a delivery vehicle. Alternate arrangements for drop off can be made. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

If your child is planning to attend EPIC on November 20, please be sure you RSVP to Kim so we can make sure to have enough room for all of the kids in the drivers' cars. Thank you!

St. Brigid Spirit Wear Online Store Launching November 7

Thank you to all of the families who responded to our spirit wear survey and provided thoughts on this program at St. Brigid. We are excited to announce that our new online spirit store is launching next  Monday, November 7! The store will be open initially for three weeks so that orders can be fulfilled in time for Christmas delivery. The store will be open again to accept orders after the first of the year. Visit    www.2horseapparel.com/wolfhounds to view the new offerings and be one of the first to sport the latest St. Brigid spirit wear!

A few items of note:
  • You asked for it, so we're delivering (literally)! Nearly 85% of respondents stated it was important or very important to have an online ordering site and home delivery, so these services are now available to you.

  • Performance fabric, cotton, long-sleeve, short-sleeve, hooded, 1/4-zip, ladies fit, OH MY! The majority of respondents wanted to see a variety of these items in various colors, sizes, etc., so we have selected some pretty cool things for you to consider. We hope you like them!

  • On that same note, we have selected items to offer this year based on the majority of responses to our survey. While we would love to include every brand, item and/ or price point suggested, that is simply not possible due to product minimums. However, we will monitor how this year's items sell and make adjustments and/or modifications, as necessary, in subsequent offerings. We appreciate your understanding!

  • If you have ANY questions regarding sizing or ordering, please let us know!  You can reach us at [email protected] or[email protected]
Thank you!
