Dear Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! I would like to take a minute to say thank you on behalf of the faculty and myself for the on-going support of our school families. We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on our school and parish.  We have many wonderful and generous families who help us to build a nurturing and faith-filled school community.  We are thankful to our School Advisory Committee, Home and School Association, SPICE and our Athletic Association who work diligently to advise, generate funds and organize volunteers to provide many wonderful programs, activities and opportunities for our students and staff.  As educators, we are most thankful for our students who show us each and every day how to continue to work on our "journey of discipleship" by their kind and generous hearts.

Enjoy the pictures in this holiday edition of our special Thanksgiving week at St. Brigid!

With gratitude,

Kathy O'Reilly

Thanksgiving Feast Photos

The annual Thanksgiving feast was held on Tuesday. Enjoy these photos from the feast and the pep rally! More photos in the album link below.

Wonder Field Trip

On Monday, students in Grade 3 - Grade 8 traveled to the movie theater to see WONDER, the motion picture adapted from the book written by R. J. Palacio. This story is a great reminder that being a friend of Jesus means we must embrace courage and share kindness in everything that we say and do.

  • Preschool Hearts and Halos - plastic bottles of mustard
  • Preschool Angels, Saints, and Disciples - plastic bottles of ketchup
  • Preschool Holy Heroes - bars of soap
  • Kindergarten - toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Grade 1 - dried beans and dried rice
  • Grade 2 - boxes of cereal
  • Grade 3 - canned tuna
  • Grade 4 - canned pasta (like Spaghettio's)
  • Grade 5 - granola bars
  • Grade 6 - boxed macaroni and cheese

Will you participate in this year's St. Brigid Gifts of Gratitude Program?

pile_of_presents.jpg
What is it?

Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?
  • This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid.
  • Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use--whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.

Will my family be recognized for participating?

Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program.  You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking "G.O.G" inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?

The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child; however, any given amount is graciously accepted!

How to participate:
  • PayPal:  Log onto www.paypal.com, choose "send money to friends and family", enter the email address [email protected] along with the total amount of your contribution, and complete the transaction.
  • Check: Send to school with your child, payable to "St Brigid Home and School," in an envelope marked "Home and school Gifts of Gratitude".

Please send contribution by December 1

Annual Fund Contributions

Thank you to all of the families who have already sent in their yearly contribution to the Annual Fund.  We are well on our way to meeting our goal for the year.  Families with students in grades K-8 are asked to contribute $100 per student. Preschool families are asked to make a donation of their choice. The money collected is used to fund our Home & School enrichment programs.

Did you know?

The Annual Fund is used to support several fall activities including the Harvest Parties and Barn Bash. Without your support of the Annual Fund, memories made from these great events would not be possible.

Special Olympics Ohio is asking for 100 volunteers per day to support the State Special Olympics Swim Meet which brings in over 440 athletes from across Ohio to the McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion at The Ohio State University Columbus campus on December 9th and 10th 2017. The volunteers will primarily be utilized as official timers and athlete escorts. There are two different volunteer shifts available:

Sunday, December 10, 2017 - 9:00am-12:00pm

Volunteers should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to their shift for their registration and a brief orientation. The volunteer point of contact the weekend of the event is John Wysocki, mobile: 614.736.8335.
