Dear Parents,

During this week of Thanksgiving I would like to take a minute to say thank you on behalf of the faculty and myself for the ongoing support of our school families. We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on our school and parish.  We have many wonderful and generous families who help us to build a nurturing and faith-filled school community.  We are thankful to our Home and School Association, SPICE and our Athletic Association who work diligently to generate funds and organize volunteers to provide many wonderful programs, activities and opportunities for our students and staff.  We are thankful for our students who show us each and every day how to continue to work on our "journey of discipleship" by their kind and generous hearts.

During this season of Thanksgiving, we ask for God's continued blessings on our students, their families, and those who work in the St. Brigid of Kildare School community.

Just a few days following our celebration of Thanksgiving we begin a special time of prayer and preparation during the liturgical season of Advent which begins on Sunday, November 30th.  Advent is a time to prepare our hearts and souls to celebrate the birthday of the Messiah.  There are 4 weeks in Advent and the 1st Sunday of Advent is a good time to talk with your children about the importance of waiting and watching for Jesus.  We wait and watch for opportunities to respond as disciples to the needs of others, we wait and watch for moments of prayer and we wait and watch for ways to keep focused on the true meaning of Christmas.

May we respect these weeks of Advent with prayerful waiting and watching.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Advent!
