Dear Parents,

First quarter report cards and discipleship rubrics will be arriving via email around noon today.  Please contact your child's teacher if  you do not receive the email.

Our 9:00 am school Mass this week will provide an opportunity for our 7th grades to invite a disciple to join the school community in prayer at Mass this week.  Following Mass, our students will be treated to a concert by our Watterson band.  The concert will take place from 10:15 - 10:45 am in the gym.  Please feel free to join us for Mass and/or the concert as your time permits.

Keep in your prayers all of our service men and women as we celebrate Veteran's Day this Friday.

Sincerely,

Kathy O'Reilly

Don't Forget to Include SCRIP into Your Christmas Planning

You deserve a gift this Christmas season: a reduction in next year's tuition.  All you need to do is use SCRIP gift cards when shopping for your Christmas presents. Take a few minutes now to identify where you'll do most of your holiday shopping and purchase gift cards to use at those retailers. Upcoming order and delivery dates include:

Order Deadline
Pick Up Date
Monday, Nov. 14

Sunday, Nov. 20

Monday, Nov. 28

Sunday, Dec. 4
Monday, Dec. 5

Sunday, Dec. 11
Monday, Dec. 12

Sunday, Dec. 18

If you're too impatient to wait (or not as good a planner), there are two ways to receive your gift cards even faster:
  • SCRIP NOW! is the quickest way to purchase gift cards. Order an ScripNow! electronic gift card, pay with PrestoPay and a link to your eCard will be sent to your e-mail account within minutes.
  • Use reloadable gift cards to add money to your card either within minutes with the ReloadNow cards or within 24 hours for the regular Reload cards. The initial delivery of your reloadable cards will be one of our regular pick up dates. However, once you already have the reloadable card in your possession, you can add money to that card at your convenience. When adding money to a reloadable card that you'd like to use immediately, make sure to place that order separately from non-electronic gift cards. If you combine an order to add money to a reloadable card with non-electronic gift cards, the money will not be added to your reloadable card(s) until the Scrip coordinators release the bi-monthly order.
For more information on how you can take advantage of Scrip, please read the information sheet and print out the 2016-17 calendar , or contact Scrip co-chairs Susan Moreland at (614) 399-3267 and [email protected], or Christine Drab at (614) 256-9065 and [email protected]

Schedule a night out to strengthen your marriage

St. Brigid's 12th Make It a Date!
Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016
6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
St. Brigid of Kildare Parish Center

We are excited to hear from our new parochial vicar, Fr. Matthew Morris, as he offers a reflection on marriage and introduces a brief DVD presentation.

This hour-long event begins with light appetizers and a chance to socialize with other St. Brigid couples. Then, Fr. Morris will share his thoughts and introduce the brief DVD presentation. Spouses leave on their own date at a venue of their choice to privately discuss the evening's topic together.

We hope that you can join us.

Registration is necessary! Please contact Karen Huttsell at [email protected] or 614-602-7724 by Thursday, Nov. 11.
Will you participate in this year's
St Brigid Gifts of Gratitude Program?

What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?
  • This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid.
  • Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use--whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program.  You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking "G.O.G" inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child; however, any given amount is graciously accepted!

How to participate:
  • PayPal:  Log onto www.paypal.com, choose "send money to friends and family", enter the email address [email protected] along with the total amount of your contribution, and complete the transaction.
  • Check: Send to school with your child, payable to "St Brigid Home and School," in an envelope marked "Home and school Gifts of Gratitude".

Please send contribution by December 2

Thanksgiving Meal Donations Needed

Our EPIC students would like to invite parishioners to donate a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need in our community. Our students will deliver the meals directly to the homes of recipients on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20. No cooking is necessary. A shopping list will be provided and the approximate cost is $50. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

If you would like to donate, please contact Kim VanHuffel at [email protected]. If you are able to drop the box off at the St. Brigid parking lot on November 20 at 2:30 p.m., we will have middle schoolers there waiting to help unload the box from your car and reload it into a delivery vehicle. Alternate arrangements for drop off can be made. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

If your child is planning to attend EPIC on November 20, please be sure you RSVP to Kim so we can make sure to have enough room for all of the kids in the drivers' cars. Thank you!
