Dear Parents,

Thank you to our Home and School Association and in particular event chairs Susan Mangold and Jen Lynch for sponsoring and organizing the upcoming Barn Bash event.  Over 800 adults and children will be enjoying a beautiful autumn evening and lots of fall fun at this annual family party on Friday, October 20th.  Please see the article below to sign up to volunteer and to donate snacks.

As first quarter comes to an end on October 26th, please keep in mind that both parents and teachers are encouraged to initiate communication any time during the year if there is a student concern.  We believe that it is better to address a student concern or clarify a situation in a timely manner rather than wait for a scheduled conference time. You may contact teachers via email or leave a phone message in the school office at 718-5825.  Faculty emails can be found on our website at http://www.stbrigidofkildare.com/our-faculty/

Last week we gathered together as a whole school community two different times.  Our first CARE meeting of the year was a great success with our 8th grade leadership.  Please see pictures below. At the end of the week we gathered together to pray the rosary.  It was wonderful to have so many parents join us for our beautiful service led by our 7th grade.  Here are some of our kindergarten students learning and preparing for their first time praying the rosary with the school community.

Autumn Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Our First CARE Meeting of the Year

Last year, we had the wonderful opportunity  to learn about the Trinity Dome that is being built in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. During last week's first CARE meeting of the year, students continued to learn more about the dome and the saints who will be honored in it.

After beginning the meeting with prayer, CARE families learned more about what a mosaic is, and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. They learned about the different parts of the dome  as well as some of the special saints and other holy people who will be honored in the Trinity Dome.  During this CARE meeting, students  concentrated on Martin de Porres, Rose of Lima, John Neumann, Katharine Drexel, Matthew the evangelist, and Jesus. Students received saint booklets that they will use at all CARE meetings this year. They filled out special information on each of the saints and holy people that were studied at this CARE meeting.

Each CARE group also spent time at the mosaic building station, where they worked together to put pieces on a large mosaic of each of the saints and holy people they learned about at the meeting. By the end of the year, our CARE families will have created large mosaics of all of the saints and other holy people that will be honored in the Trinity Dome.

Altar Server Training is Nov 5
All students in the fifth grade and older are invited to become Altar Servers for the Weekend and Holy Day Masses.
Is the Lord calling upon you to serve?  Answer the Lord's call by becoming an Altar Server!  St. Brigid of Kildare is encouraging all those in fifth the grade and above to consider becoming an Altar Server. You will have only one evening class to attend, one short section from the Liturgical Ministry Manual to read and study, and three mentoring sessions with an experienced Altar Server. Do this and you are ready to be scheduled as an Altar Server. It is a rewarding service!

Our next training session for Altar Servers is November 5, 2017, Sunday afternoon in the Church from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.  Please register by November 1st, so we can be prepared to welcome you.
