Dear Parents,

This Thursday we will celebrate the end of first quarter with our annual harvest parties.  These fun-filled events are organized by parent volunteers and financially supported by the Annual Fund.  Our students may also enjoy a dress down day with a special dispensation from Msgr. Hendricks to attend our weekly school Mass in dress down attire.

As first quarter comes to an end, p lease keep in mind that both parents and teachers are encouraged to initiate communication any time during the year if there is a student concern.  We believe that it is better to address a student concern or clarify a situation in a timely manner rather than wait for a scheduled conference time. You may contact teachers via email or leave a phone message in the school office at 718-5825.  Faculty emails can be found on our website at http://www.stbrigidofkildare.com/our-faculty/

Enjoy the Barn Bash on Friday and the three day week-end!

Sincerely,

Kathy O'Reilly

Keep the conversation going is new weekly feature designed to keep up the dialogue that began with Dr. Sax's presentation on The Collapse of Parenting. We'll share resources to help guide parents in today's socially and technologically complicated world.

Here's a way to manage all of your home's connected devices: Circle is an app that parents can use to filter content, limit screen time, view the sites children visit and set a bedtime for every device in the home.

Used and recommended by St. Brigid parents, Circle can be purchased at Target, Best Buy and Amazon.

Visit the website at:

Congrats Layla and Maren!
Box Tops for Education Due Oct 31

Time to turn in any box tops you have been collecting!   The Home & School Association will be redeeming box tops on October 31st.  If you have any that have not been turned in, please send with your child in an envelope Marked "H&S Box Tops" or place in the receptacle located in the cafeteria near the garden windows.

Annual Fund: Did You Know?

Did you know the St. Brigid Annual Fund allows for FIELD TRIPS?! The first graders already went to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium this year. The first graders were able to ride to the zoo in two buses; it was a very cool experience for the children who are not bus riders.

The children went to Africa, Australia, North American, Asia, the Congo and of course the playground! The Annual Fund also allowed the first graders to experience a Zoo Keeper talk, from who they learned about all the habitats and animals right here in Ohio. They were able to see up close an opossum, box turtle and even touch an armadillo!

Thank you for supporting the annual fund and allowing our children to have exciting off site experiences each year. If you have not contributed to the annual fund yet, please consider a donation.
Thanksgiving Meal Donations Needed

Our EPIC students would like to invite parishioners to donate a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need in our community. Our students will deliver the meals directly to the homes of recipients on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20. No cooking is necessary. A shopping list will be provided and the approximate cost is $50. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

If you would like to donate, please contact Kim VanHuffel at kvanhuff@alumni.nd.edu. If you are able to drop the box off at the St. Brigid parking lot on November 20 at 2:30 p.m., we will have middle schoolers there waiting to help unload the box from your car and reload it into a delivery vehicle. Alternate arrangements for drop off can be made. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

If your child is planning to attend EPIC on November 20, please be sure you RSVP to Kim so we can make sure to have enough room for all of the kids in the drivers' cars. Thank you!
Barn Bash: RESCHEDULED for This Friday

Barn Bash has been RESCHEDULED for this Friday, October 28th from  6:00 - 8:30 pm. (Reminder: there is no school this Friday).

If you still wish to buy tickets for the new date they are available until  Thursday for $10.00 a person and at the door for $15.00 a person.

We are still planning to use the same volunteer schedule that was going to be used last week.  If your status to volunteer needs to change due to the new date, please go to the sign up genius and make the change.  Similarly, if you are now able to volunteer please feel free to sign up to volunteer.
