Join Parents in Prayer
Nothing is more important at Prince Avenue Christian School than consistently lifting our students, faculty and staff up in prayer.  We are blessed to have a Parents in Prayer group, led by Colleen Brown, who meets every Monday morning to pray for our school family. Please join this group in the Media Center at 8:10 am on Mondays as often as you can to pray with other parents.  The blessing will be both yours and ours!  For more information, contact Colleen Brown at colbrown3130@att.net.
Incidential Charges  Billing and Payment Dates

  NEW FACTS INCIDENTAL BILLING SCHEDULE

In response to feedback from our PACS families, there is a new incidental billing and payment schedule for the 2016/17 school year.

This revised schedule was designed to reduce the number of email notifications you receive from FACTS and reduce the number of payment due dates, but still provide timely notification of charges.

New FACTS Billing & Payments:
  • Charges will be posted throughout the two-week billing period to your on-line FACTS account so that families who wish to monitor charges closely can still have access to this information through the FACTS website.
  • FACTS will accumulate the charges for a two-week period and send a combined invoice EVERY OTHER MONDAY EVENING.
  • Typically, there are TWO 2-week invoice cycles which are due on one payment date – the 1st of each month (or next business day if weekend/holiday).
  • Families will have a minimum of 10 days from when an email is sent to when the payment is due.
  • The first regular invoice will go out on Monday, August 22nd and the first payment due date for the 2016/17 school year is September 1, 2016.
  • Click HERE for a link to the full schedule on our website.

Upcoming Charges (those that impact the majority of students – this is NOT a comprehensive listing):
  • Lower School Supply Fee $40 (Grades Pre-K thru 5th only)  – Due September 1
  • Spiritual Emphasis Retreat $30 (Grades 6th – 12th only) – Due September 1
  • Technology / iPad $28.80 per month (Grades 9th – 12th) – Due September 1
  • Please see the Family School Handbook for a listing of optional activities and fees which may pertain to your student(s).

Dear Class of 2017 and your families:

Let me be among the first to congratulate you on beginning your final chapter of high school at Prince Avenue Christian School! I know that just as God has guided your steps to this point, He still has so much in store for you over the course of your senior year. My prayer for each one of you, specifically over the next 9 months, is that God will grow you and strengthen you. Spiritual growth and strength, however, come as the result of our intentional submission to God and allowing Him to stretch us beyond our normal comfort zones. One such opportunity for spiritual growth and strengthening is our international senior mission trip.

From February 25-March 4, we will be serving the people and needs of Guaimaca, Honduras. While in Honduras, we will have the opportunity to teach English in schools, present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in very practical ways, and experience the beauty and diversity of this Latin American country. Without a doubt, this is absolutely a life-changing and perspective-changing trip that will impact you for the rest of your life.

The total cost for this trip is $2,000. This fee includes airfare, food and lodging in Honduras. To assist our PACS families, the $2,000 amount will be billed in four monthly installments of $500 each beginning on October 1st. All billing will be processed through FACTS. Additionally, the business office will accept donations from friends and family made on your behalf.  You can pick up donation forms in business office of the school).

Over the next few weeks, I encourage you to pray and seek guidance as to how God would use you in Honduras in February.

Please plan to attend our international mission trip informational meeting for seniors and parents on Monday, September 12 at 7:30pm in the PACS cafeteria.

I look forward to serving with you in Honduras and getting to know each of you better over the next few weeks!

Dear Prince Family,

In any successful organization, there is an intangible “it” factor. That “it” factor may not be something that you can actually see or easily put into words, but you can certainly sense and feel “it”. Some organizations have “it”, while others do not. Some organizations used to have “it”, while others are striving to obtain “it”. At PACS, our “it” factor is the spiritual culture of our school. This past week, you graciously allowed us to take your child off campus for a foundation-building day. We did not take a “magic-bullet” approach to these day trips but rather, we view them as solid footings to build upon. In the days and weeks to come, we will take steps to improve what needs to be improved and strengthen the areas that were most successful so that next year’s Spiritual Retreats will have a much greater impact.

One of the most vital components to us building and strengthening the “it” factor at Prince is you…the parents. The prayers of our parents provide the fuel to the spiritual culture of our school. When it comes to prayer, we have two choices: we can pray WIDE or we can pray DEEP. If we pray wide (for a large number of people and concerns), our prayers are often…intentionally…surface-level and shallow. If we pray deep (in a more focused and specified approach), our prayers are much more powerful because they tend to be much more personal. For this reason, I want to explain how we will specifically be inviting each of you to partner with us in deep prayer.

As a faculty and staff, we will be meeting together every Friday morning for the sole purpose of praying for the students at Prince. Each school level (Lower, Middle, and High) will have their student rosters broken down and divided out so that every student in that level will be prayed for by our faculty and staff. Every Friday morning, our Lower School teachers will pray specifically for the 9 selected Lower School students that week…our Middle School teachers will pray specifically for the 6 selected Middle School students that week…and our High School teachers will pray specifically for the 9 selected High School students that week. I will then, email those lists out to all of you and ask that you pray specifically for those students throughout the coming week.

My desire is that our students are completely saturated in prayer! I firmly believe that at the end of this school year, we will be able to look back and see that our collective and focused prayers were the catalysts that God used to bring about radical change in the lives of our students!

I am so excited about the journey ahead and am honored to be on it with each of you!
