Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and
take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life
will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Mark 8:34-35
January 14, 2018
Chaplain's Corner
As we have been working our way through the Book of Mark throughout this school-year, this week in chapel Brandt Akin lead our students through Mark 8:31-9:1.

READ MARK 8:31-9:1

As you are in your cars running errands, sitting around the tables, or relaxing together in your homes, ask your student(s) the following questions:

  • Why do you think God doesn’t always give us easy answers?

  • How does simply trusting God when it’s difficult actually build our faith in Him?

  • Have you ever found yourself (like Peter to Jesus) trying to tell God what to do or tell God what is best?

  • Mr. Akin made the statement: “If all we offer God is our comfort zones, we are not truly worshiping God.” Why is this statement so true? Why is this statement so important?
